Yeah no doubt. They were odds on to collapse in the heap against the spinners before the rain came IMO; the rain will help them no end as it'll not only break up the flow of the match and let them re-group but also soak the ball, making it a harder for Ashwin and Jadeja to grip the thing.

The advantage duckworth lewis gave us was written off by the loss of momentum and pressure.

India also benefited from the overs that were lost. Most of the lost overs would be from seamers (lost a maximum of 2 overs from Ashwin and Jadeja), and the equation was reduced *after* most of the pie-chucker overs were used up.

Anyway England really have done everything possible to **** this up.

Not in ODIs he isn't. Scores his runs much faster than Broad does, which is what you want in this situation.

Ok. Strange, if you think about it. Maybe it's a Matt Prior-like case. Who is another superb strokeplayer in test match settings with the attacking fields but not a fine LOI player.

Broad's problem I think is that he usually takes time to settle in before he gets going; when you're batting down at 8 or 9 then you won't really get that in an ODI.
