Why Munaf instead of Jadeja?
Spinners always dangerous at this stage, however the pitch is or how they've bowled. All it takes is one swipe for six and its game over, which is much more possible with tailenders.

LOL @ Munaf standing beside the stumps, watching the ball go past, and then having a go at Kohli. I'd be tearing a strip off him post-game as captain or coach.

Also, Scaly, question for you - whose choke was the best, Stokes or Bopara?

He's got a cheek moaning about anyone's fielding when Broad could sweep straight to him at short fine leg and still get a single.

Vintage SP !! :p

BTW, you never confirmed whether Anderson turned the corner
Obviously. He still didn't merit selection for large parts before then and yep a lot of the reason why wasn't his fault (his technique being messed about with by coaches) but that's the reality of the situation. Likewise Bell for a period before he toughened up a bit wasn't worth his place in the team. Because someone comes good later doesn't mean it was the right decision to pick them when they were **** previously.

Good LOI match this. Don't often see this format, but thoroughly enjoyed today's spectacle.

Far less comfortable in the end than what England would have liked and there was some very good spin bowling in the middle. Jadeja and Ashwin (and even Raina) were standouts for India while Kieswetter's quickfire knock and Bopara's cool in the end saved the day for England.

I'd go with Jadeja for MOTM despite the fact that he ended up on the losing side. Fine contest, though!

Congrats to England, our spinners bowled really well but had no support from seamers.

And munaf should be chucked out of the squad, lazy ass expects superman kinda effort from other fielders whereas he himself doesnt even attack the ball when the ball is coming towards him

Agree with all of that, but weren't you questioning his selection as late as 2009/early 2010?

Stokes was nerves, they're two completely different things. He averaged like <20 until this season in limited overs games.

Piss easy, cevno reckoned we were lucky on d/l though.
Do you read?

I said India were lucky on D/L the first in this thread and then again 3 times including to you too.

The momentum at the time of the rain and the wet ball after it favored you though. And i cannot see any grounds for disagreement on that.

Edit - And we forgot the tosses in that whole debate.:p

Credit to India for making this a competitive game after their nightmare start. Just too few runs though unfortunately.

England's middle order looks much weaker without Morgan and KP to deal with the spin.

That was because he'd been consistently rubbish for quite a period of Test cricket. At his stage of the career you pick him because you think he'll perform in the series. You can't just pick someone until you hope they might come good eventually, which was what appeared to be happening. The same goes for Broad to an extent, he didn't get better because he'd played Tests every time he was available. He got better because he played some better lengths and played some county cricket. You can invest a bit more in potential and speculate somewhat in these mickey mouse ODIs and T20Is. Don't do it in Test cricket (well unless it's Bangladesh maybe).
