*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

Almost impossibly, England are living up to all their hype. Batting with their best batsman out with injury, and playing this test without one of their best bowlers, they have still managed to make India look pedestrian at times.

India are missing players of their own, but England have not even given them a sniff of a draw. It's a given that they would dominate at home, but the extent of the domination has been pretty amazing to watch.

I love watching Kumar bowl. Not quick but skillful.
Little baby Bell must have cried in the tea break & Dhoni gifted him a second chance.
It was definitely out going by the rules.
But hats off to Dhoni.
I'm sure this has been said before but Im going to say it again. If I was an Indian supporter, I'd be embarrassed by most of your posts. They are beyond ****.

Mainly because we are a good side and nobody around the world can accept the fact. We demolished Australia in Australia in a fashion which no side has done in the history of cricket and before the series the home side were favourites. We thrashed Pakistan, we beat Sri Lanka yet got no credit for all 3 series wins as they are sides with problems.

England fans have said it for a while, you don't bowl sides out as cheaply as we are of late and score the amount of runs we are without being a good side. maybe if we reach number 1 some people will wake up and smell the coffee. Doubt it though.

Far far too much to ask.

Are you kidding? Anyone who has followed cricket for the last 2 years gives this England side a lot of credit. England and India were the two best teams in the business -- isn't that why this is a 'marquee' series?

I'm not sure why you guys feel so hard-done all the time -- you sound like Indian fans sometimes.

I am not sure of many who are saying you are not a good side here... Problem is when the words good and great get mixed up... As was the case when India were becoming #1...

What a great day for England. From being in a position at the start of the day where a poor session could have left us really struggling to stay in this Test, we produced a performance like that. Ian Bell looked in wonderful touch from what I saw, didn't see much of KP's innings, but will watch the highlights later.

The Bell incident on the brink of tea will no doubt overshadow his outstanding innings in tomorrow's papers, yet the right decision was ultimately reached, albeit with Strauss' and Flower's intervention at the interval. India could have stuck by their decision but ensured the spirit of cricket was maintained by their reversal. Fair play. Will be interesting to know how the discussion went, Dhoni and Fletcher would have presumably been only too aware of the outrage that would have ensued had they kept with their decision to appeal.

It was sloppy from Bell but you can understand why he thought it was a boundary. As he was coming off the park you could hear him say "he had called over", but never mentioned that in the interview, presumably under instructions or he simply hadn't called over.

Roll on day four, glad I've snared myself a ticket!!

Just as a heads up, it is still possible to get 30-100 on England to win this match, with the weather set fair ((c) howardj) - surely that's worth a sniff?

Honestly, some really dire posting here today
Indeed...

God I wish people would stop bringing up the Colly captained England v NZ incident. There's no comparison whatsoever. On that occasion there was a very real chance of a run out and then the collision happened because the Kiwi batsman got in the path of the fielder coming in and the run out became a certainty. Whatever you think of that there's no similarity at all.

A. I'm not an Indian supporter.
B. What was wrong with my post?
C. What's wrong with airing an opinion on a forum?

Random thought of the day

It's rather neat that after KP dropped Yuvraj, who went on the make 60-odd and so give India a lead of 60-odd, KP went and perfectly cancelled it out with his own 60-odd.
