*Official* Second Test at Trent Bridge

India currently have a healthy edge, but considering the position they were in early after Tea, it should've been much bigger. Dhoni's uselessness with the bat is killing the lower order. The batting suffers a collapse the moment the 5th wicket goes down. Still, can't complain, I guess. Down 2 openers + out best bowler, should be happy with the team's performance so far. Would be an incredibly victory if we pull it off.

What a brilliant day of cricket. I went from hopeful to fed up to immensely frustrated to elated to hysterical throughout the day - what it's all about. Annoyed I didn't get to see yesterday's play, although (once again ) I was right about the batting collapse. Thing is, it usually happens in both innings of the game and is folliwed by some tail end fun. We've already had the tail end fun..

Not really, no. I meant all those lbws England survived that Hawk Eye showed them to be MARGINAL. They were very lucky to reach even 221.
Christ, I keep having to fix your posts.

How can you expect the umpire to give those marginal calls? Ridiculous.

India at tea on both days have had England on the ropes and blown it twice. If they get another chance they simply have to put them away.

India have let England score 70 runs more than they should and got 120 runs less than they should. That isn't luck.

Marginal? These appeals looked plumb LIVE and Hawk Eye showed them to be out. You cannot say England wasn't lucky to survive them.

Get the feeling with Taylor being named captain of Lions he is ahead of Hales at present.

Still think we'll go for Bopara and have Morgan retain his place. Not what i'd do though.
You may be right, but the immediate vacancy is at number 3. That may not be such a worry if Bell makes a big score tomorrow. But I wouldn't want Bopara batting in that position after his performances there in 2009, and he doesn't even bat that high for Essex. Ditto Taylor for Leicestershire of course.

Assuming Trott is out, I think you're right that Morgan will stay.

Think the position will be a non issue. Bell's played there before and they'll ask him to do the same, even if results weren't overly impressive before, if Trott is injured.

I'd go for Taylor personally. Just seems such an incredible talent.

Seriously, is the dictionary extinct? No one seems to understand the defenition of words any more. Clipping the top of off is not plumb. Especially when players are leaping 3 feet out of the crease. That is called marginal. If an umpire gives it out, fair enough. If he gives it not out, fair enough. No arguing about it.

All of these stupid arguments are distracting from the fact that India have bowled really well this game. Who's talking about Zaheer now? Seriously, like I just said, at least 2 or three of those MARGINAL calls were perfect deliveries clipping the top of off. Yes they lost it after tea yesterday, but tomorrow will be so so difficult for the England batsmen. Also, Trott had better be okay tomorrow, or I can't see us surviving.

England weren't lucky; they just so happened to be playing against a team whose board refused to do everything in their power to ensure correct decisions were made. Nothing lucky about it; just poor management from India.
