English Domestic Season 2011

He might not need any more pace if he's up to 83 or so, but it might be a long time before he gets the control you need to get away with that at international level.

That's a pretty brutal counter-attack from Kieswetter. Nothing better to watch than a number six come out when his team are deep in the **** and smash the bowling to pieces.

Well at least he may be finding form. Was probably going to play anyway, so hopefully he gets a haul to get some confidence.

Guess his place in the side depends on the ankle as he left the field for it to get strapped yesterday. Not a bad position to be in though as Bresnan is a quality replacement.

Yorkshire are weird. You have a virtually non-existent tail - Sidebottom's batting at 11 yet, if I remember correctly, has had a pretty good season with the bat. The bowling attack you've got out now, too, looks like it would be the best in the country. I'm guessing the poor season is down to these players not all playing regularly together, or not finding form, because you look a good outfit.

Down to having too many people from Yorkshire in the team imo

Nah, their top 6, Bairstow aside, has been pretty dissapointing, Sidebottom hasn't had the effect they had hoped moving over, Rashid has struggled after the first couple of games, Shazhad hasn't been in form and Bresnan hasn't played. They've had some injuries as well.

Wow, don't see that too often in 2020. Moore undone by the pace of a bouncer from Brooks, rather than the lack thereof. Spoons it up to short mid wicket and Hall takes a good low catch.

Not the best start for the Red Rose in a must win game. Well, kinda must win.

I put up a feature on what's gone wrong a few weeks ago.

You're right, we shouldn't be in this position with the team we've got. Senior batsmen largely to blame.

We'd possibly get through with 1 win out of our last 3 games however 2 wins would see us definitely qualified and all three games are agains the bottom 2 sides and the last two at home. I'm a pessimistic sort but even I fancy our chances of qualifying. Can't do better than 3rd either

Yeah, two v Northants & one against Derby should see you right, 'specially if the Steelbacks are gonna be resting players.

Ooops. Captain goes as I type. 27/2 off 4. Lancs look to have quite a tail too.

Yes, Gale & Bairstow aside, the batting, has been the big problem, they're just not putting up big enough scores, for the bowlers to work with.
Rashid has been really disappointing this year and Siddy's done alright but with very little support.
Shahzad has been along with Rashid the biggest disappointments, the bowling department, he's really struggled in all formats, all year.

Lancs gonna have to bowl well then. 110/9.

Pitch looks very two-paced so it's not impossible, but Northants should waltz it.

This Junaid Khan chap looks very impressive. 86mph, a distinctive action, a very good bouncer and awkward angle. His record in all three formats is very good too.

Yeah, Pakistan just seems to have a never ending supply of quality seamers.

Shaping up to an exciting finish with any luck.

Northants somehow contrive to lose! 7 needed off the last over and Junaid comes up trumps. Lancs win by 3.

Great death bowling.
