for your team, sure..RIP Shane Warne Century
Always thought Ganguly would be better![]()
yeah, like it was not the case before when an international match referee came out and said he applies different standards for Australia, South Africa, England and for the rest.. basically giving the first mentioned 3 a lot more leeway coz "they play the game hard"..Am I missing something? Why are people saying let's play the bold and enlarge game now?
Anyway. I wonder if India's belief that certain Umpires and Match Referees have it in for them will become a self-fulfilling prophecy? I hope so.
Uncanny lack of replies to that post. Not as long as he is an Indian, I guess..![]()
ok, so we have a situation when a player KNOWS he has not edged the ball on the way to the keeper but is given out, and the replays are inconclusive.. Generally a player knows the best reg. these edges but due to pictures not being great (and trust me, we have even seen run outs given by 3rd umpire on the benefit of the doubt, it looks out but can't give it out based on that evidence sorta deal)... How is that the right decision and that will end up costing a review too... How will the player know how well the camera has caught the pictures? And what if there was no hot spot as it is "expensive"???It will be if the team reviews them correctly each time.
And the bowler did a **** job of cutting the crease...tbf Dhoni did a pretty **** job at hitting the ball

No mate. They have assessments and reports from both captains where things can be taken up.yeah.. it is horrible to tell someone they did a **** job when they actually did a **** job.. Its not like they are being paid to do this or anything, right? They are juz doing this as a service to the game they love..![]()
so dhoni is the first player to criticize an umpire ?..this rule was there before and people have still come out and talked about it..No mate. They have assessments and reports from both captains where things can be taken up.
yeah, nothing is said against morons like Proctor when they make bull**** statements like thatyeah, like it was not the case before when an international match referee came out and said he applies different standards for Australia, South Africa, England and for the rest.. basically giving the first mentioned 3 a lot more leeway coz "they play the game hard"..![]()
Who says he's the first, the tenth or the five hundredth? The question is whether he should have said it.so dhoni is the first player to criticize an umpire ?..this rule was there before and people have still come out and talked about it..
And I would love to see what action was taken on that.. IIRC, Ganguly gave some of the worst assesments ever to Bucknor and Bowden and yet they were still around and led to most of the vitriol of the Sydney incidents.. Surely, it doesn't take much brains to work out things were not well between these two umpires and the Indian side and have someone else officiate.. That shows how seriously ICC considers these ratings. When was anyone removed from the elite panel for poor performance? No mate. They have assessments and reports from both captains where things can be taken up.

Keep doing it man, its cool.
well, I, for one, don't find it wrong to criticize them for wrong decisions. Obviously the way Dhoni worded it was pretty poor, but the message he intended to convey (or so we assume) was not wrong at all, AFAIC..Who says he's the first, the tenth or the five hundredth? The question is whether he should have said it.
If Ponting made the same comment in India the effigies would be out.
ignore...................................Keep doing it man, its cool.
IMO, the team taking the review should not be penalized if there is doubt and it goes as umpire's decision in the end. But then you don't expect ICC to think of anything sensible like that !ok, so we have a situation when a player KNOWS he has not edged the ball on the way to the keeper but is given out, and the replays are inconclusive.. Generally a player knows the best reg. these edges but due to pictures not being great (and trust me, we have even seen run outs given by 3rd umpire on the benefit of the doubt, it looks out but can't give it out based on that evidence sorta deal)...
