Get Lee Dixon in. One of the best analysts the BBC have and gets punted behind Lawrenson and Hansen the majority of the time, I'd be fuming if I were him.
Not sold on Dixon as a pundit tbh, seems to say rather a lot of questionable things. But I've not seen any of him for a while, so maybe he has improved.

Think Dixon certainly benefits from the fact his colleagues are Lineker, Shearer, Hansen and Lawrenson. Wouldn't be hard to look insightful and knowledgable next to the 4 of them.

Nah, Dixon's good, especially on matters defensive. Like Hansen used to be before he lapsed into self-parody.

WRT the worst ever Lieverpool player, it should be remembered than Souness signed Hungarian no-mark Istvan Kozma from Dunfermaline. Was irredeemably gash.

Poulsen with two terrible fouls already. He's gonna have to step up with no Lucas, reckon a card or two will be coming his way otherwise.

Clear goal disallowed for offside was fantastic aswell.

Most of his signings would probably qualify, Souness was a terrible manager.

Obvious joke of the day, but clearly men just don't get the offside rule.

Actually, talking of ESPN, Rebecca Lowe is a very good anchor. Was good with Sultana too, would be an interesting booking.....

I don't really care about the host though, a plank or Ben Shepard could do it. Stelling would be a safe pair of hands, Countdown is all recorded in about 2 weeks I think.

Stuart Robson, Gordon Strachan, Graeme Souness have all got to be better then Redknapp shirley.

Did alright with you lot didn't he?
Yeah, good trophy haul, but the Scottish League is uncompetitive at the best of times. Deserves enormous credit for dragging us out of the doldrums of the early 80s, but at the end of the 80s/start of the 90s, as hard as it is to believe now, Rangers were the biggest, richest club in Britain, with the best stadium in the country (which gave us a huge advantage post Hillsborough) and benefitted enormously from English clubs being banned from Europe post Heysel, which allowed us to attract the top English talent at the time. 4 of England's Italia 90 squad were Rangers players (Woods, Butcher, Steven and Stevens), more than any other club.

Given all these advantages, Souness' success at Rangers doesn't actually tell you anything about his prowess as a manager. He underachieved massively in Europe as well.

Did alright with Rovers tbh. We won a league cup, finished in the top 6 under his watch. He brought some gun players in too. Tugay, Friedel, Cole. Dunn and Duff both emerged on his watch.

Ended up gash but that's how most managers end up isn't it?

As to Andy Gray the real question we all want to know the answer to is who will replace him in FIFA 12?

Not sure why this should necessarily stop him working for EA.
I'd say it will. If he's no longer a commentator why would keep his job doing commentary in a sports game? It would be like Rooney still being the face of the FIFA series if he stopped playing tomorrow.

Andy Gray and Rooney are not to their respective disciplines what MJ is to Basketball.

But point taken

Cracking player. Played for us at the end of his career.

The remarks during the Liverpool game were on a par with Ron Atkinson's "****ing lazy ******" remarks.

Gray and Keys remarked that a qualified referee wouldn't be capable of understanding the offside rule because said referee happened to be female. If they'd said that about a black referee, they'd have been bulleted instantly.
Yeah, imagine if it was "queers don't know the offside rule."
They're surely incomparable, in the same way that "all Irishmen eat potatoes" isn't comparable to "all black people eat bananas", despite being logistically the same thing. And the level to which society has stamped out discrimination isn't measured by how socially acceptable it is to make stereotypical jokes on the group in question; if anything my previous comparison suggests that they're negatively correlated.

Not to say their comments were acceptable, but they're not on the same level as Fat Ron's outburst. I'd think nothing of it if an acquaintance said what Gray/Keys did, apart from that they were probably a bit of a dick. If someone said to me what Ron did I'd be absolutely stunned.
