Is there actually an acceptable reason why Franklin bowls 125kph? Despite his injuries his run-up and action appear the same as ever and he is obviously still regarded as a bowling option.

Probably can hit low 130s tbh. That would make no difference though so i guess he just focuses on the line and length.

Arnel's bowling speeds are hideous.

He really looks like a country hick as well, with those teeth showing every so often.
As sure as the sun will rise in the east, here we go with ye olde speed topic again.

Arnel is bowling into the wind in Wellington. I'm not sure what you expect?

And re the country hic comment, he is from Hamilton. I'm not sure what you expect?

This may seem to contradict my previous comments on this topic, but I think it would make a difference. I don't think it's too much to expect our international bowlers to actually bowl with some effort.

Yeah, I'd be fine with him bowling 125 if he was swinging it like he used to. 125kph and gun barrel straight is a recipe for disaster though.

Yeah personally i can't wait until Wagner is eligible, Milne develops as a player and Bennett returns from injury. It will give some bite to our attack at least.

I tip my hat to Pakistan. Last year they batted like tossers, with ample mental ineptitude and techniques looser than Paris Hilton, but they've rolled their sleeves up here and look the business. Techniques are tighter, brains are engaged, and instead of trying to bat like traditional Pakistani greats they're trying to bat like batsmen, and reaping the rewards.

Taufeeq Umar, where has this bloke been?

Toffee Kumar was out of favour for a bit iirc and went to the ICL, but yeah since getting recalled he's been something Pakistan have been crying out for for ages - a solid opener.

Imagine how good they'd be when Amir/Asif come back from bannings!

Great reply from Pak here.

Hah. Just as I typed that Taufeeq bit the dust. Loving TheMan being back in form.

Goneskis!!!!

At the cricket today, twas windy as ****! Semi dropped Taylor's six, deflected off the bloke next to me and lobbed by me, stuck my hand out but wasn't really expecting it, will never have a better chance than that, missed out on $200:dry:
I would have been less than 5 metres straight behind you.

I don't trust Pakistan here, surely they will make a mountain out of a molehill somewhere in this Test.

I'd be surprised if they did. You'd think they'd be more worried about playing cricket than some form of amateur earthmoving contract.

Especially tough to manufacture mole hills without the usual tool of choice, a mole. I doubt Biosecurity NZ would have allowed them to import their own mole.
