It's one of cricket's unwritten laws that NZ's last 6 batsmen will score more runs then their first 5, no matter what order you send them out in.

Pathetic over rate by Pakistan. The ICC should bring in laws for serial offenders that they can get docked points off the ICC Test Championship table.

Apparently there's a guy in the stand's who looks like Vettori. I reckon it's him and the batsman is some genius who has plays like Vettori (and is in form) while looking somewhat like Dan if he were wearing a helmet.

Absolutely typical day batting for NZ. Several of the top order make starts but fail to push on, Taylor gets 50, and now Vettori and the lower order to (hopefully) push us up to something respectable.

Please dont be so cruel. Pakistan hardly has any points in the ICC Test Championship table. If you start docking off points for this, we might go into negative.

Over rates are not always the fault of the fielding side.
I have not seen this match but were there any issues with the sight screens? players getting injured? requiring physios?

It was windy at the Basin today, which can be really difficult if you're not used to it, so it's probably fair not to be too harsh on them. But when you throw in the fact that their over rate wasn't particularly flash in Hamilton (although NZ's wasn't great either), it does start to get frustrating.

Well I think warnings and fines should be issued first. But yes, it was windy, but there seemed to be a lot of time wasted, and it wasn't through sight screens or injuries, but it just took forever to get an over started, and we had more then 30 overs of spin today.

This is nothing compared to what India did in the NZ series. Every single hour they bowled they were behind the over rate. NZ were largely doing what was required. Sloppy to say the least.

Another dire day of NZ test cricket. Can one of our top six get a hundred one of these days? Only positives were Taylor, Vettori and Young tbh.

At the cricket today, twas windy as ****! Semi dropped Taylor's six, deflected off the bloke next to me and lobbed by me, stuck my hand out but wasn't really expecting it, will never have a better chance than that, missed out on $200:dry:

lol.....tough luck

This last partnership is getting annoying. It has already put on 64 for the 7th wicket. Can we please get somebody to remove the tail cheaply. Last I checked NZ were 180 for 6.

How is the pitch???? Is it bowler friendly?

Great that Taylor and Vettori both seem to have found some form at last.

Young also impressing - this is his big chance. Already tempted to conclude that he is better than Hopkins :)

No it's very nice for batting. Bit of sideways movement with the new ball, and good bounce, but nothing that should trouble quality batsmen too much.

Yeah I agree about Young. Really big chance to make a big score.

So 250 plays 250 then?
Hah, yeah I was hoping someone would pick up on the particular phrasing of that sentence.

I'm still holding out hope that Vettori and Young will make it through the first hour tomorrow morning and get us to 350. I'll be there from the first ball though, so we'll probably implode in 15 minutes.
