*Official* - Pakistan in New Zealand 2010/2011

Xuhaib

International Coach
Misbah would have done quite decently had he been consistent run in his younger days despite the scores I feel he is clearly past it.

I'm taking a shine to Misbah. Blocked all day then brought out the reverse sweep with five overs left in the day.

He entertains me.

Haha, I actually agree tbh. His prime was passed over. He had Inzamam, Younis and Yousuf to compete with for middle order spots and he didn't take his (admittedly limited) opportunities when he got them earlier. I don't really think he's actually particularly good now, but with every score he makes at the ripe age of 36 I think he goes somewhat further to proving he could've had a real good Test career in his prime with some more selector faith and patience.

I'd still pick him in my 35+ World XI though. I'd probably make him captain tbh.

He is good for another ten tests i'd say. Don't know how many tests they are playing this year though due to the whole world cup thing going on.

Are you serious???? You would make him captain even while Ricky is in the team????
Ricky probably wouldn't make my team tbh.

Nah, seriously, I actually had a think about it and my batting lineup would probably be: Katich, Trescothick, Kallis, Tendulkar, Laxman, Hussey. I'd think about bringing Dravid in for Trescothick. So no Ponting ... and no Misbah. :(

The way Pakistan have been playing recently suggests they have turned a corner. They appear to be in control of this match. How is the pitch playing ? Is it a road ?

it is not exactly a road. Doesn't look too bowler friendly but not exactly a road. Definitely in the pitch with the new ball

I see...I saw Xuhaib criticising Misbah's decision to bowl first, that is why I asked.
You see Xuhaib is Scrooge so he will criticize anyway :). I am sure had Misbah batted first and had NZ exploited the conditions somewhat you would have ppl criticizing him for batting first on a minefield. Tbf the pak batting can make any pitch look like a minefield.

Well we have control of the match, all that counts to be fair. Azhar got out by not batting an hour only 5 times in 17 innings, great to hear.

its about 75% road, have hardly seen the ball do much - although there was some green in the first session - but pak only got one wicket out of that.

pakistan got out by playing crappy shots.

i think 400 is a par score

if vettori remains ill that will be a big boost for pak.
