*Official* - Pakistan in New Zealand 2010/2011

Good fight back from NZ after that early brain freeze by their top order...

What i didn't like was the way they started bowling after the ball was reversing, what's the point of keeping on a spinner when clearly a bowler with Tanvir's pace is reversing the ball. Right when i saw that, i said Misbah should put Gul and Riaz from either ends and give clear instructions to bowl full and fast on the stumps....

In the old days this was the classic way of cleaning up the tail. With the ball reversing i saw Tanvir bowling length balls and getting smashed for fours...that was complete poo on part of Misbah for not being able to walk up to the bowler and instruct him what to bowl when its moving like that.... 177/7 and then you give it away like that with 3 decent fast bowlers with a ball that is reversing...now that's criminal.

They don't rate anyone on there unless they bowl 90mph (Sami has dedication threads...) or they hit "big six". Afridi and Imran Nazir would be the forums popular choice for opening combo in this test.
AWTA, often read the posts over there for the lollers

Well, it has become something of a fashion to point fingers at Pakistan for everything, but to be fair to the New Zealand commentators here, this allegation is not completely baseless. If you watch part two of this from 9.00, you can just about make out Umar Gul moving his thumb (over the seam ?). Whether or not he was actually tampering with the ball I do not know, but it does look a little dodgy if you watch closely.

There’s nothing conclusive enough in that footage to pass judgment. But I can’t blame anyone for casting doubts on Gul. The fact is, Pakistan have a less than stellar reputation for ethics. Most of that reputation is hard earned, some not so much. The cricket world as a whole is less likely to give the benefit of the doubt to a Pakistani player than someone else. And as a Pakistani, we have no one else to blame for that than ourselves. Gul is at fault here for even giving an impression that he’s tempering with the ball. I don’t think he is, but he shouldn’t even come close to holding the ball in a way that gives that impression.

In that pick he simply hiding the shiny side of the ball from the batsman.

Its quite a habit to just start this ball tempering rant when a Pakistani bowler gets it to reverse...what a load of baseless ****.

See that video, he's clearly moving his thumb.

The footage that Blaze linked to shows him slightly moving his right thumb. Nothing conclusive at all for sure. With all that Pakistani cricketers have gotten into in the past few years, do you really fault people for raising eyebrows?

Right Gul should get a life ban for this gross misconduct!

Why would you cast a doubt on Gul? Has he done this before? As far as i know he has never been a culprit in any misconduct of any kind. It is simply a habit....even when he reversed the ball against NZ in T20 game of the 2009 WC Vettori was talking in a way which was more or less saying he tempered with the ball because Vettori had never seen a ball reverse after 12 overs......To me its becoming quite sickening.....the whole world can take that benefit of the doubt and shove it up its ass....

Oh come on..stop being so defensive all of a sudden...enough of this baloney already...there is nothing in that video suggesting he did anything wrong.....
