Just on Watson, I'm not being deliberately contrary but I don't think it's great technique. He's planting his front foot and playing around it unless a delivery is woefully short.

Has been playing the ball off the pitch, which he's generally got away with because it's so slow. Has been dogged and he obviously has a good eye, but I wouldn't hold it up as exhibit A on how to play spin, myself.

Agreed absolutely. It's worked for him here, though.

Yeah not pretty at all, for mine. On anything other than a pudding like this deck is you'd fancy your chances of drawing a close-in catch.

It'd be interesting to see how the lower middle order play. It obv depends on how many this pair + North get, but I think there'd be a case for a counter attack myself. Oz getting wee bit bogged down now.

Indeed, which is why Clarke's dismissal is so annoying. Could so easily see him bang a couple of these down the ground for a few boundaries.

I'd say cricinfo is correct there. No way was Ishant bowling 125kmh.
