Thomas Hitlzsperger makes his return to the Premier League with a free transfer to West Ham. Marcello Lippi has been touted around in Italy as Benitez's replacement. Scaly I can give you some Italian insults to use if Lippi makes a poor tactical decision in a match should this happen.
Cracking signing by West Ham, Villa were mad to let him go in the first place a few years back.

One of the best strikers of a ball I've seen; really gives it a thump. Did have a kwality Brummie/German fusion accent going on too.

If memory serves he went back to the Fatherland to improve his international prospects tho.

Lehmann and Seaman in the same match, awesome.

25 minutes in and Jamie Redknapp is leterally not injured.

Had a fairly shocking season though; played 12 games of the first 20 for Stuttgart (who got 1 win in his 11 starts and 14 wins from the other 23), went to Lazio in the winter break to get regular football and was dropped there after about five games.

Because he's actually a bit crap.

For every thunderbolt he scored he must have sent about 25 wildly into the stands.

Rafa Benitez should be appointed Inter manager later today. He will sign a two year contract worth €5m per season.

I'm trying to think of someone who's equally talentless who makes so much money. It's a tough one. I mean even players like Kieron Dyer at least had the ability to run quickly despite being constantly injured. Anyone get a 8 figure compensation payout for scolding their tongue on hot coffee?

Why on earth are Inter signing a manager who has such a shocking track record? He got what, 2 major trophies in about 4 years at Liverpool with a massive net spending and some awful signings..

Someone needs their head checking.

Yet if you speak to anyone who goes to watch Liverpool week-in, week-out they'd have him stay there for a long, long time. Nobody was happy with this season yet they all feel they are better off than they were before he joined. It was only twelve months ago that they realistically challenged for the title, he failed to make the CL Last 8 once, including two finals etc.

It's easy to judge sitting at home but I'd always back a teams' supporters with these judgements, there were plenty of people in the media saying we needed to give John Barnes more time. We were watching it and we knew the score.

Of course that doesn't mean that the fans always know best, but if a clubs' fans back their manager and nobody else does, I'd always side with the former. Always.

Yeah but this is LIVERPOOL fans we are talking about.

Anyway Benitez for all his failings is clearly not a terrible manager, did well with Valencia of course, take out this season and he has done a reasonable job with Liverpool on the whole.

LOL

Listen, if you're talking about the 'average' red I have zero time for them. This city is full of know-nothing bandwagon jumpers.

The core supporters do know and understand football though, it's no myth how much the sport means to this area.
