Cannavaro is well past it, should never have resigned with Juventus imo, should have bowed out long ago. Good player in his day imo, but he's been prety poor for the last few years.
Well more like Juve should never have taken him back. I mean his home town club of Napoli (where his brother plays at and is the captain) wouldn't touch him with a 10ft barge pole, I guess that says something (Napoli is a rather ambitious club ATM).

Craig, how you feeling about the Benitez -> Inter stories?
I think they will hire him. His assistant manager Mauricio Pellegrino is Argentine and the word is a lot of the Argentine's at Inter are good friends with him, so that will be a tick in the box for Benitez. One of the board members recently was talking Benitez up, so either a) he's an idiot who doesn't understand football, b) watches a lot of Liverpool matches and still thinks highly of him.

I know Corrin mentioned the Liverpool fans who go to the games wanted Benitez to stay, but I don't know what their football knowledge is like though.

My god Liverpool forums are hilarious. It's truly amazing how oblivious the fans are to how awful Clown was. You just finished 7th in the Premiership after being one of the biggest net spenders, your home grown talent is past it, he flooded the whole set-up with people you're now going to have to pay off after he got a massive pay-out. I mean ffs.

On a related note...

Who is Flavia Magalotti?

Should appoint Mark Hughes, would keep the police busy for a while. He's too good for Liverpool anyway.

I'm kinda expecting Liverpool to try and tempt O'Neill as he'd be the most obvious fit I think, but they've already forked out a load of money paying off Clown for being a clueless donkey. Will be interesting to follow it all unfold at least.

Would think they'll wait until the WC is over and try and snap up whoever leaves afterwards. Failing that, Klinnsmann was in with a shout a few years back.

Rumour is that if Benitez does take over at Inter then he is going to want to bring Torres, Mascherano, and Kuyt with him.

Certainly don't need Kuyt, Torres would be nice even if Inter have enough strikers, and I'm sure Mascherano could fit in, even though there is Muntari, Mariga and co who all play there as well.

O'Neill at Liverpool would be all kinds of fail. Needs a massive chequebook to succeed, and in terms of scouting I'm not sure O'Neill knows that football is played outside the British Isles. IIRC he's in single figures in terms of foreign signings over the course of his entire managerial career. At Celtic in 5 years I can only recall him signing Bobo Balde from abroad.

edit: my bad, Joos Valgaeren came from abroad as well.

Say... John Carew, Carew, he's bigger than me and you....

Other than him he's signed Brad Guzan (Chivas), Arsenio Halfhuid (Excelsior) and Moustapha Salifou (FC Wil) from abroad whilst at Villa.

TBH, Liverpool need a few more Brits and a few less mercenaries. One of the big gripes of Liverpool fans is the teams lost it's soul and core of players who are playing for the name of the club.

****ing Rangers fans. Shut the ****ing **** up. Waaaaah O'Neill managed Celtic for a bit.

Leicester and Norwich he was fine without a massive cheque book, brought through the likes of Muzzy Izzet and Emily Heskey and made people like Steve Walsh and Steve Claridge look amazing somehow.
