I'm just settling down to WM 2000. Not a classic Mania but I am working through all of the PPVs from 2000 onwards (slowly) Have watched 2000 in the wrong order but will do from post X-Seven chronologically. Yeah, I'm a geek, but meh. Anyway, expect some random post on the great moments

Such as, what a voice Lilian has.

Oh and it's crazy watching these old Mania in normal-sized arenas. I very much enjoy the massive outdoor extravaganzas they put on nowadays, can only see MSG getting it of the smaller arenas from now on.
I really liked WM2000, underated event for mine. The undercard was pretty terrible in hindsight, but still enjoyed it.

As I remember it there are only two matches above sort of 7/10 territory, we'll see
The Jericho/Benoit/Angle match was pretty good I thought, and the Tag Team Ladder match, and I liked the ME as well, even though I accept I'm probably in the minority there. Quite enjoyed the hardcore match as well. But having just had a look back at the card on wiki, **** me there is a lot of dross in there. Should have cut out a few of the pointless tag team matches and had X-Pac vs Kane imo.

X-Pac sucks, get over it. They should have done though, instead they had the blowoff at No Way Out. That's what Mania is supposed to be for.

Hardcore battle royal was a lot of fun tbf, botched ending though. Just watched it now. Apparently Tazz was going to get the push that Benoit got but injured himself at the end of that match.

Haha, yeah, tbh whether I like him or not he should have had the blowoff there, exactly as you said. It was one of the feuds they had pushed the most over the last few months, and then they had some stupid tag team match which focused more on Rikishi and Pete Rose rather than anything else. Was pretty much a total burial as well.

Pity for Tazz actually, shame they never had a Jericho/Tazz feud in WWE, would have been off the charts good imo.

You throw that burial word around far too much IMO

Bob Holly is such a turd, how did he stay employed so long?

Haha, no such thing as too much imo.

I agree he was a total ****, but something about that I found very funny, so I could never totally hate him. The skit where he "beat up" a planted WCW fan who asked him for an autograph was just hilarious.

Ladder match is on. I've always said I prefer this one to the TLCs. Will report back with whether my opinion is correct shortly.

Haha, you seem to like all the guys I hate

I've just been drawn into a Cena argument on facebook. Feel drained, love Cena

Oh and I enjoyed the ladder match, but now, couldn't they have found better opponents for Guerrero and co than Too Cool & Chyna? Suppose they didn't have much time to prepare tbf

I do tend to have an affinity towards the guys no one seems to like.

I guess I just forget the years where he was a little bit bland, the the whole jeans and no shirt look that screamed 'I'm gonna kick your arse' when he feuded with Lesnar.

Holly's feud with Lesnar was awesome. People randomly started cheering him. One of the more weird moments in wrestling.

Then he just got buried at the Rumble I think, correct me if I'm wrong.

Holly sandbagging the powerbomb a few months earlier and ending up with a broken neck in order to "teach Brock" a lesson is probably the prime example of why the guy is such a jackass imo. Yeah, nice one Bob, you sure showed him, pretty sure his career is over now..

Had a reputation for working stiff, Bob Holly. Don't necessarily believe in karma, but hey

He gave Muhammad Hassan a ridiculously stiff punch in the eye at a house show as "payback" for not putting in to a beer fund or something similarly redneck. Many many stories like that regarding him. Can't stand the guy at all.

Watched the entire Rock-Mankind feud on youtube including the 3 or 4 Raws before their 99 Rumble match. Man, the Corporation Rock had to be the most badass avatar of the man we've seen. The chair shots in that match still completely mind**** me. There's video of Foley's wife and kids watching that match and it is truly gut wrenching. Also the level of promo in that feud was truly top class from both guys. Completely awesome.

Watched the I Quit just a few weeks back. So good, so intense. Rock was so coked up though. Chairshots brutal. Have read a few varying takes on the heat between him and Foley after that.
