I am surprised they got some cricket today, QLD probably wish they didn't. Man Ryan Broad is out of form, not good. :(

Despite saying Jaques shouldn't open in a full strength NSW team in the Road to the Ashes thread, I'm happy he made a decent score today. Steve Smith 71 not out, can't believe we didn't get to see his batting during the T20 matches for Australia.

Sylvester

State Captain
Hughes in form and Forrest have made such a difference to our side. Smith has been his usual self and Khawaja probably not quite there due to his injury. But right now our batting lineup is looking really good, no idea why we keep playing 7 batters + wk though.

Kylez

State Vice-Captain
QLD are 2/20 in the few overs that were bowled today. Both wickets went to Putland.

good start, hopefully we can roll them over for below 200, also 12 wickets to Trent Kelly in the futures league match against TAS. Good stuff.

Poor old Lynn for Qld.

Debuting on a Wimbledon pitch.

Good luck, son.

Steve Smith tons up, WAG. Average is now >50.

If only his bowling average wasn't as well :(

This Gabba wicket is unfit for cricket really. There is no way it could have been properly prepared. The grass must be an inch high on it.

It has to be more than that though. It had been raining non stop for a week.

Definately a "bowl first" wicket regardless.
For sure, as were the 90's decks. And also why Bichel/Kasper rated lower in selections than others for the time.

Get the feeling SA will struggle here; SA's and QLD's batting line-ups are structured similarly, both a bit light-on in the batting department (although there won't be 60-odd run-a-ball 10th wicket partnership between George and Putland!). Heavy chance of being bowled out before stumps unless one of the top 4 fire.

Best chance would be to play their shots I reckon. Mass is due for a good score so I'm backing him.

I bet none of the other states have a number 11 who is averaging 60 with the bat and under 25 with the ball :D

Dan Christian, your time is now son. He's got the game, just needs to right opportunity to show what we all know he can do (and runs don't come tougher than what appears to be the case in QLD). Getting the team to 200 would be a fantastic effort at this point.

The team is 7/47, totally on the back-foot, and then this happens;

Over 22.1: Rimmington to Ludeman, FOUR, steps out and smacks a drive away through wide mid off.

Love the Ludeman.
