I wouldn't disagree with that but this pitch is turning a huge amount and young Bravo got a half tracker that kept incredibly low.

No excuses for Pollard or Fletcher though. Terrible.
Bravo is young and inexperienced so a degree of leniency should be allowed. That said, he has played a cross batted shot first up on a pitch that is inconsistent. There has been little thinking in some of the cricket from the batsmen in this game so far.

As you say Pollard watched one ball from Cremer go harmlessly down leg side for a wide, then next ball trried going big, only for to not turn. I'd be surprised if fletcher even knew there was a man out when he played that shot.

It has been poor stuff, it may be 20 over cricket but you can still apply your brain and use time to get set, not continuously throw wickets away.

I find it amusing that we only picked one spinner for this match .

Looking at the conditions, we would probably have already won if Miller was playing as well.
Yeah, Miller should've played instead of Rampaul....

We're passing 67!
At least the critics can't blame this loss on Gayle.

Don't these Trinidadian batsmen know how to bat on Trini pitches?

The young brigade of Barath, Fletcher, Pollard and Darren Bravo still have a lot to learn....
What about Chanders Mike?!! as one of the "world class seniors" what did he do? 8-) looks like his poor form in the WI shirt has continued, Fletcher really has pissed me off after the great form he was in for Winwards, this is Barath's first T20 game so he's got an excuse, we got off to such a great start but yet again we've killed ourselves, Gibson has a lot of work to do.

Chanderpaul was one of the few who looked like he could bat.

How about score more than double the combined total runs of Barath, Fletcher, Pollard, and Bravo. Whan chasing 100, that isnt a bad thing

"Looking" like it and doing it are two different things Roseboy!! , as a senior he should have showed the youngsters how it's done, but yet again he's failed to get even 30 runs for WI, i'm disgusted with it all tbh, ZIM should never have even gotten 100!!, but of course Rampaul had his usual nightmare over where he gifts the opposition 20 odd runs :wallbash: , it's crazy that all these batters failed when a 17 year old Kraigg Brathwaite got 80 against the same team 8-) , the head of selectors claimed "we will look at more young players" so we'll have to see what happens, Ottis only had two days with this bunch of clowns so now he'll have more time to get his message across before the first ODI, and lord knows they better make up for this shocking performance!!.

Still not good enough for someone who's meant to be "world class", and lets remember two of those guys went for ducks.

While Chanderpaul is not exempt from criticism, he did get a start and possibly should have gone on to take WI closer, he should be the least of West Indian worries in that innings. He was one of the least guilty in playing brainless cricket, and if it is down to a lack of experience in the line-up, then perhaps the selectors have to look at themselves.

Still overly negative tripe?
Yes quite frankly. He seemed to ignore the fact that the pitch turned square. We batted horribly, don't get me wrong, we deserve all the criticism that will come from this. But the conditions were horrible and no team should be able to get away with 20 overs of spin in a T20. The fact that part timers were turning it square is an absolute disgrace.

Time for a brief sabbatical for me tbh. It's not healthy for me to be this angry. It's only a T20 and a sport after all, but I find myself despairing at the state of our cricketing infrastructure. No wonder spinners take all the wickets in domestic cricket and pacers are lucky to get a 4 over spell.

It doesn't get any easier supporting WI does it? my football team lost a big game today so my mood was bitter to start with, then the begining of this match really lifted my spirits, but now i'm as pissed off as ever before, we can't give up though, the great, young talent we have coming through still gives me hope, Thursday is when the serious stuff begins, if the guys dare perform in the one dayers like they have today then lord help them.

If they produce pitches like that for the ODI series you can count me out. 20 overs of quality spin followed by 30 overs of filthy part time spin is not my idea of cricket. That must be what it's like watching our domestic cricket nowadays though.

Sarwan and Bravo come back please! All is forgiven!

Edit: The 1st 2 ODI's will be played on the same pitch at Providence, which is really slow and low. Then there are 3 at St Vincent which is another horrible track. Oh joy!!!!!!!!!

Bravo should be back for the last two maybe?!! and i'm sure Deonarine and Sarwan may come in, along with "captain" Gayle, but tbh i'd play Brathwaite instead, i think he'd do well. i'd drop Rampaul ASAP too, his constant mistakes towards the end of the innings are costing us big time, i think we'll bounce back though!!!, we can only go upwards from here.

We agree on that. Will be disappointed in the tracks favor part time spinners.
