Can Tendulkar get 100 international hundreds?

after this series he should focus on ODIs more and try to get 50 odi hundreds by the time of 2011 world cup, because the world cup might be his last ODI tournament. He still has about 2-3 years of test cricket left in him atleast so he will for sure get 50 test hundreds

I don't care about his 50 ODI centuries. I would rather have him score another 10 Test 100s. ODIs are meaning less anyway.

It will be hard to see India playing Test matches without Tendulkar.

Anyone else think that Tendulkar will retire after the Mar/Apr 2012 Pakistan tour of India? Imagine the $$$ if Tendulkar announces his retirement before the test/ODI series. The BCCI are probably dreaming about it right now.

I don't think the television contracts will be up for rengotiation when Tendulkar announces his retirement :p.

The TV channels will have months of programming though.

^ why though? why dont you want to him to get 50 ODi centuries?
I don't care if he gets 0 or 1,000 ODI centuries. I'd trade those 1000 ODI century for one more Test century.

If he feels he has very limited time and/or his body is starting to go out and he can't recover, the first thing that should go is the bilateral ODI matches, than the ODI series, then all the major ICC tournaments, and finally Test matches.

I know he is very desperate to play in the ODI WC in the subcontinent and wants to win it badly, so he'll definitely be around for that barring a massive slump and/or injury, but I hope he calls it quits in ODI right after that, and maybe that'll buy him another year or so in Tests.

Dravid will be gone way before that, and Laxman, in all likelyhood as well. So he'll be the last of the big guns to retire (despite being the first to make his debut), and hopefully India will have a decently experienced middle order by then, or at least a reasonably settled one.

Tendulkar's been out in the 90s in Tests and ODIs 24 times; 7 of them (ie, nearly 1\3rd) came in the space of less than 5 months between late-June and mid-November 2007.
Watto obviously trying to emulate him..

Okay, Sehwag is on record saying that he prefers batting at 4, but he won't get the opportunity until Sachin retires. He's even said he'll retire after a 100 tests (on 76 right now).

So, presuming Sachin is still going on like the duracell bunny when Sehwag plays test #100, and Sehwag is still top dog Sehwag, would you:

A) Let Sehwag retire like he wants to, and continue playing Sachin at 4.
B) Play Sehwag at 4 and tell Sachin to pick another number or get lost.
C) Keep Sachin at 4, try and convince Sehwag to play at 5, and go back to playing musical chairs with the opening berth?

D) There's that much money in cricket now, and Sehwag's going so well, he'll keep going anyway.

E) Sehwag keeps opening the batting and if he bitches, suggest that as hard as opening the batting may be, it'll be even harder to score runs as 12th man.

TBH, as long as Sachin is in the side, no-one else will bat at 4.
