Some people are already blaming Tendulkar for scoring centuries in defeats already. how outrightly silly it is to blame a first inning centurion for a defeat doesn't occur to them.

My pet peeve - average in wins. The most meaningless stat in cricket. Reasons explained in another thread earlier.

It's a bit pointless because the fundamental assumption in using stats like that is that the fact the team was winning/losing was a driving factor in the batsman's performance, when the reverse is true, especially for someone like Tendulkar who for a lot of the career did the carry a lot.
