But you can make an educated guess before teams make tours to tough conditions in recent years like AUS 96-2007, India vs Kumble/Harbhaja or SRI vs Murali/Vaas - whether the opposition has the tools batting or bowling wise to upset.So does that mean that you could write off every other tour?
With regards to the IND 08 tour. It was fairly obvious long before that series began that AUS didn't have the tools to win with regards to bowling attack. So IND wins can't be rated as highly.
Well yes sometimes the unexpected happens like that series IND vs AUS 2001. SA vs AUS 52/53, IND vs AUS 2001, ENG VS SA 98. AUS vs WI 60/61, IND vs WI 2002. Where seemingly inferior teams step up unexpectedly. But those things dont always happen.I mean England were never expected to be competitive in 05 either.
To be fair to ENG in 05, some did believe they had a team to win.
