I am surprised Aussie doesn't want to bring Haddin up a spot and find room for Nannes.

I quite like the idea of Shaun Marsh coming in at number 6 for Australia tbh. I know it's not his ideal position, but I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be capable of batting there.

No way in the wide world that Marsh is one of the 6 (lucky to get in top 10) best batsmen in Oz which probably means he's a shoe-in

The fact that he's not good enough yet and wouldn't be much chop no matter where you batted him is a good reason IMO. Having half a good season and being technically sound doesn't make up for an entire career of being fractionally above average. I have hope for him and I think he has a lot of ability but I don't want him to get picked before he's scoring consistent Shield runs; I'd still back North ahead of him at this point.

Aussie, Nannes doesn't really deserve a spot in the Test side.
I have never suggested that he does ATM. The most i have said he shouldn't just be T20 specialist & should be in the reckoning for ODIs & tests as well

Dont know where Nufan & others (PEWS, andy_c for eg) are going by trying to suggest i am some BIG Nannes fan. Get it right fellas..

Disagree with the above. Marsh has had more than half a good season, he's now had 1 1/2very good seasons.

He's also proved himself in the one day side and he has a father who used to play with 2 of the 4 selectors, one of them Boon is great mates with Geoff Marsh.

I also like the fact that we'd have a batting lineup of (he shouldn't be selected for this reason alone)
1 RH 2 LH 3 RH 4 LH 5 RH 6 LH 7 RH 8 LH 9 RH

This match would be a guaranteed draw against almost any other team. But not Pakistan (and probably NZ too).

Looks like Aust will have to toil to get through Pak. Will be impressed if they get a few tonight.
