Hey, if I ran the club he would have probably been here in the summer It's Wenger though, unless it's a ridiculously low fee he'll wait until he's out of contract.

Campbell's a much better centre half than Carrick or Evra, tbf.

Wouldn't be Fergie's worst punt ever. Who called the Owen signing before it happened?

No one called it much, but many said it'd not be a bad move (myself included, long before he walked from Newcastle)

I don't think Campbell would be a bad signing either. Still closer to his peak than Owen is ever likely to get to his.

Given that Owen scored a decent hat-trick last night and Campbell hasn't played for a top tier club since the middle of the year I'd say that's a fairly tenuous claim.

Campbell obviously won't be match fit, but that isn't irreparable. Sol hasn't lost his pace or faced any career-threatening injuries. In terms of chronic physical decline Owen has fallen further.

I'd still take Sol to outpace Vidic now, tbh.

I wouldnt, physically or mentally
I'll give you the latter, but the former? Sol could give him ten yards and hop and he'd be past him by twenty.

Sol was seriously quick; was the fastest player at Arsenal. Might've lost a wee bit of pace, but not like Owen has.

For a big chap he was very pacey, will give you that, but quickest player at Arsenal? Really? Surely Ashley Cole or Henry were faster.

Sol was still officially the 2nd quickest player in the Prem over the last two seasons. Link.

Safe to assume he was even quicker in his Arsenal pomp, I'd reckon.
