Yes and I don't see how that detracts from my point that most of their appearances will be as subs. Barring massive FM-like injuries, they'll be squad players.

Gary Neville was captain last year. Not to mention he was out for that game as well as Ferdinand. Giggs is second in line but Ferdinand captains most games from the start.
