Kabir pulled up with an injury on Sunday, went straight of the field so would be a bit suprised if he is fit. Will be following Moeen' s progress for the rest of the season, have seen few better innings at county level.
Yeah he isn't playing, the one who is missing from the Cricinfo side is Noffke

Damien Wright is a bit of 'meh' overseas signing. Sami was good for them, as he offered them something else but Aga, Collymore, Wright and Martin-Jenkins, it doesn't put the frightens on anyone.

Where is Pepler Sandri?
Damien Wright's a decent bowler - exactly what you want in a stopgap overseas signing.

Not that I have the slightest time for such signings, they're an unbelievable waste of money. No-one should be allowed more than a single overseas-player per season IMO. If someone picks-up an injury, tough.

Anyway I hope Aga actually plays this season, pointless for them to have even signed him otherwise.

David Masters has 2/9 off 10 overs at the County Ground, Bristol - top stuff. Meanwhile Saj Mahmood has 0/10 off 5.5 overs, has the world gone mad?

David Masters and Saj Mahmood, two bowlers that can both land it on a postage stamp!
Typical Masters really, nicking a couple out early on and as economical as ever.

Wright had a very good shield campaign with the ball and his batting is useful too. It wouldn't surprise me to see him hit a ton, I reckon he can do a role similar to Andy Bichel did when he played County Cricket.

Yeah I like Samit, think he has been used and treated pretty poorley by England really, Hope he can work on his fitness and get himself back in the ODI setup but as a batsman who bowls a bit rather than a bits and pieces all rounder.

Seems like a tight affair at Hove. Sussex 132/3 in the 58th. Jimmy 2/32, Chapple with the other, all the seamers keeping it really tight. Another couple of quick wickets and we'll be on top.

Good to see Ali Brown in the Notts team, don't really understand why Surrey let him go. He may be 39 but given their performance last week they could do with anyone right now.

Good to see Essex doing well. It would be good if they could get promoted and see how they go in Div 1 next year. Such a great little club.

Pretty poor indictment on county cricket (2) when Nicky Boje is batting at 4 and Ryan ten Doeschate is getting 5 wickets.

He turned down an IPL deal to stay with Surrey as well. Surrey's argument was looking towards the future but just one look at that and you would take back Ali in a heartbeat.

Found that baffling myself. It'd have been fair enough if he'd done nothing last season, but he'd been decent enough when picked. Totally inexplicable the way they pensioned him off.

Mind, at 39 anyone is always going to be a huge risk and it'd not surprise me at all to see Brown have a horror year this term. Ali Brown being Ali Brown, though, you can never really predict with much confidence.

Hampshire face a trip to Edgbaston tomorow, despite defeat on Sunday I am pretty confident for the rest of the season, think we will avoid the drop and could put up a title challenge (especially if Tahir has the impact he did last season) although as always think the batting will not quite be good enough.

Good to see North coming in, was a bit suprised they have dropped Lumb as despite a pair in the first match played well on Sunday. I Would have been tempted to drop Balcombe and play an extra batsman, would have meant we batted right down to 8 with Cork at 9 but I understand why the didn't go for that. Have Ian Bell to contend with of course but hopefuly our bowlers will give him a little bit of a sterner test than he got last week.
