Somerset's bowling attack is a joke. 10 overs bowled from de Bruyn (albeit 3 for 30) and Trescothick has had to turn his arm over because Banks is complete ****e. Ian Bell in the runs once more, this time as opener.

Lancashire doing a good job of collapsing. Might struggle to get 250 from here with Du Plessis gone. How Sutton is considered for OD cricket i don't know, crap average and scores really slowly, and Cross is a better keeper.

Gotta love predictions like that. Although given that neither of my preferred teams can win the CC this year, I'd be quite happy to see Lancashire do it, or Somerset which is somewhat less likely.

You may mock David but I haven't felt this confident about Lanky's prospects since .................... oh - must be around this time last year ...........

Another hundred for Bell today at Edgbaston. 108 from Warwickshire's total of 271. Had a cracking start to the season! Woakes's figures are good as well, 5 overs, 1 maiden, 1-18 with the wicket of Marcus Trescothick for 29.

Somerset appear to have rolled up the Taunton pitch and brought it with them to Edgbaston.

Chapple takes 2 in 2 to remove any doubt up at old trafford

Still 10 overs to go at Edgbaston, apparently, and 13 at Bristol - did some of these games start late?

Kieswetter in good form as well it would seem. Ton up for him.

And Sussex's opening competitive fixture of the season ends in the usual crappy loss. Our win in 2006 notwithstanding, we must have just about the worst record in Friend's Provident and B&H Cups in the last 20 years.
