Oh, I admit it was a small sample size. Was against the medium pacers as well as the spinner though.
You have to take the situation of the match into account and they were looking to finish things off quickly, so the lower order didn't have the pressure. That innings was nothing like his normal innings that he plays. He is quite defensive normally.

Your basing that on one innings where he had a slog cus the game was already won and he was playing a useless spinner?

I don't think he actually good enough either, but he not much worse then the likes Bopra and Shah.
I've never seen him play an innings that looked technically adept and resistant - granted much of the coverage we get on Sky is limited overs, but much of the time that was enough for Middlesex to get themselves into big holes last season. He looked very impressive when the onus was on him to get on with it and improvise - the Twenty20 suited him, but he was inevitably very keen to play an unconvential shot or create something from nothing... and on a deck that did something, he was back in the shed more often than not. He would benefit our T20 side, but he doesn't look a Test cricketer for me right now.

Coetzer must have heard me - 13 off his last 10 balls. They need plenty more of that though.
The way he has batted all tournament is indefensible, as he is a good cricketer and I’ve always been fairly impressed by him when watching Durham.

No Waters for Kenya. Nice.

Afghanistan motoring along nicely, 114-2 at just past the halfway stage.

Namibia's batting is strong though, they're going to need at least another 150.

K O'Brien run out 22 (37 balls, 0x4, 1x6) SR: 59.46
Partnership of 47 in 68 balls

Another big wicket. Those two were starting to get on top.

Im assuming this thought is because of the lack of Canadians in their team?
Yeah. It is a refugee/economic immigrant XI. It is the reason why I don't like the UAE or Oman as well. Two sides which are full of Pakistanis and not Arabs or people (of Pakistani origin) born in the UAE or Oman. I am told cricket is growing in Canada but I just don't think ex-pats are viable enough to propel cricket in those countries.

I also fear (for the realistic longevity) Namibian cricket, as it doesn’t seem to be widening its appeal in the country and enticing the majority of the populace into the game. Pretty good that a bunch of farm boys have gotten this far but they could really push-on; especially from the good support its gets from CSA - who don’t enforce any form of transformation onto the Namibian side which competes in provincial cricket. Domestically, Namibia competes in a competition where four black players have to play but they don’t field one to the best of my knowledge.
