A la Lampard, which is why anyone without an FA contract can see they will never work togetherNah, i'm not sold on it, and i don't think Benitez is either. Rafa clearly thinks Gerrard is too good to leave out (quite rightly) but can't be picked in the middle of a four-man midfield for whatever reason (i'd say lack of discipline). He's found a solution finally with using him as support for Torres, giving him what is effectively a free role. But he's a bit too attack-minded to be world-class in the central midfield role. As style of play goes, he's currently quite similar to Tim Cahill (only better)- dogged, enthusiastic, great going forward, scores crucial goals and always gives 100% effort, but too attack-minded to play in the middle without protection.
Am glad there's no game today because I am ****edOh gawd, there should be a law against no football on New Years Day. I was even going to watch non-league ****e, just to see what I'm not missing, but even that's been called off and replaced by old fat blokes playing a pub game
Edit: Oh an Ashes special on Sky Sports 1, I am saved
AWTA. Strange decision to have a round of matches on the 26th and 28th, between a day of each other, but nothing on New Years day.Oh gawd, there should be a law against no football on New Years Day.
All to ease the match program of Man Utd, imo.AWTA. Strange decision to have a round of matches on the 26th and 28th, between a day of each other, but nothing on New Years day.
Ha, of course i'm not saying that. But he eventually played, was discipline enough to play out on the left in Belarus & was excellent. Was Stevie G's great discipline one of the secrets behind England's pre-Capello success?
No doubt an amazing achievementBut for Bruce's greatest achievement, take this in slowly: Wigan have the fifth-best defence in the Premier League. And that defence regularly features Titus Bramble.
Would be a good decision we desperately need a competent back and I'm sure he'll be able to fit into our system well and become a great player for us.Would be very happy to see him sign, quality player with a good head on his shoulders.

Personal favourite writer there is Tim Stannard, who does weekly-ish reports on Spanish football. A perfect mix of hilarious and informative.Couldn't agree more, some top-notch guys writing there.
