Haha, I found a stream but turned off after the 2nd Aussie try. Wish I'd watched it now.

I suppose NZ will now chase 327 tomorrow.
Atleast, if we collapse in the 1st hour, I will have this to comfort me.

Just watched the highlights. Lockyer's second try was a thing of beauty, but the Kangaroos had a few brain farts second half. I mean what the hell was Slater thinking when he threw a blind pass behind his back ten yards from his own try line?!? He might get away with it more often than not, but it's low percentage football. I've no real issue with the penalty try either, Slater might have been covering but if you tackle a bloke without the ball on the try line you deserve what you get. Should probably have been sin-binned too.

Jeremy Smith's ankle tap on Thurston at the end was crucial too. If Oz had've scored then they still could've gone on to win it.

Good game tho, still pissed off I never saw it live.

Severely disappointed! Was a great atmosphere at the game, and was amazing whenever the 'Kiwi' calls came out. Loved how the Australian's walked towards the Kiwis as a group during the Haka. Some players shockingly underperformed. Bloody Slater is an idiot! Reckon Williams is over-rated also.

I didn't watch it and took up an offer to go see the new James Bond movie instead, but I saw the Billy Slater pass

I watched the match and couldn't really believe it especially after the start.

Credit to the Kiwis, well played.

It's something if it happens in the World Cup Final.
Exactly. His **** up negates everything he did previous in the WC.
It is something.

But he wasn't the only person to make mistakes:

* Joel Monaghan- The Penalty try
* Brent Kite- Conceding a large amount of Penalty's
* Craig Fitzgibbon- Knocked on right in front of his own line
* Darren Lockyear- Didn't put the ball down
* David Williams- Practically running out

See, he wasn't the only one to **** up.

How many things did he not **** up in the World Cup?

Good job NZ...I only heard about this last night, couldn't work out what my mate was talkingmabout when he had something about us losing on his Facebook page as I thought he was talking about the cricket!

Me and my mates were at a 18th last night and didn't even bother to check to score as we thought it would be walkover.

Saw the hightlights of the game and it looks like Australia didn't really turn up and the Kiwis control the game when it was there to be won or lost. Australia made some stupid mistakes and Kiwis played within themselves and just completed their sets. Looked like they didn't really try to play over the top much. But the Aussie tried to be a bit fancy and got caught short.

There was sence after PNG and Fiji matches that the Aussie peaked a bit early. Whereas the Kiwi were getting better each match. Seem to have been the case at the end of the night.

Good for International Rugby League overall. Just need to keep the Tri Nations going and most importantly increase the number of matches between the Island sides and PNG. Having a two tier structure allowing the players from NZ, Australia and England to play for other sides when not selected for the big three.

England need more players in the NRL. The standard of the both comps is massive now. There are some players that are good enough. But they seem happy in England as they will earn more. Maybe the English board should look at providing bonus to top up NRL salaries to get more guys across and improve the quality of their top players. Wont happen though as it will make the gap between the leagues greater.

Tharmi'll hate this but simply, too many Manly players in the Aussie side. When there were less Manly players we beat NZ easily, and don't forget when we did they had Matai, also a Manly player.

They lose Mattai, so one less Manly toss pot. We gain Watmyth - one extra Manly toss pot.

It upset the natural order of things, costing us a win.

Kite - did ok for a non-rep prop.
Watmyth - not a rep player
G Stewart - good club player, that's it.
Williams - meh, a fast winger - they're a dime a dozen.

On a serious note, wtf was Stuart doing replacing a 125 metre per game prop in Steve Price with a wide-running back rower in Watmyth? That's a disaster waiting to happen. Petro and Kite go off the ground, and we're light on for size. Played right into NZ's hands.

They were superb actually. Deserved to win. Happy for Cayless after so much big game nothingness for him in the past.

And whoever chose Lockyer as MOTM obviously hit their head when they fell out of the ute with Changa before the game, in yet another example of Rugby League pre-game entertainment going so very, very well.

Personally, I reckon Brent Kite played ****, especially in defence.

Whenever he'd be defending I would cringe as he was always around the head of the Kiwi's. He didn't concede too many penalty's, but looked like he was going to. In attack he was ok, nothing great.

Did we have any other props in the squad though? I can't think of any.

Odd they didn't pick more props then. Back rowers are a dime a dozen. Still, if it had've gpne as expected, no one would be saying anything. And 24 odd hours ago they were meant to eb the best side ever (bull**** BTW, but they're pretty damn good)
