Light taken and that is stumps. Safety first from South Africa, not going to give Bangladesh an inch here.

79.3 Mehrab Hossain jnr to Amla, 1 run, pushed to cover and scampers a single. He has b een hit on the left thumb by the throw from the fielder and that might be a very serious injury seeing that the left thumb does not have any paddin
From Cricinfo.

Is that injury serious as Cricinfo say?

Bangladesh have to contend with Morkel, Steyn and an in-form Ntini in South Africa chasing what looks like 500+ - should be fun.

Also been a bit of turn out there, which will not disappoint Harris, although I only believe him to be an average spinner.
If Harris bowls more than 12 overs this Test then Ill be disappointed. Expect the big guns to blow away Bangladesh.

Yes I fully agree tbh. It just may enhance his chances of getting a chuck. But like you I expect the main damage to be done by Morkel, Steyn and Ntini.

Ive nothing against Harris, just that its hard to find overs for a spinner if a team is bowled out for under 200 twice like Bangladesh may be.

I expect the seamers to do most of the damage and bowl most of the overs.

Just a brief note on Harris, I don't necessarily dislike him, I just think he's an average spinner, who Australia will give no respect to and promptly hit him out of the attack. Was amazed England treated him with as much respect, but then again perhaps I am doing him a dis-service. Will make a clearer judgement after the Aussie series.

Yeah fair enough.. I don't think he's a saviour or anything, I think he does a job.. If Monty Panesar can find success against the Aussies then I think Harris is at least worth a go

I hope it does but really cannot see it, unless the weather starts shortening the days play, by about 50 overs per day.

I am presuming that you are indeed a Harris fan, and I don't want to involve you in a big debate over him, as I take it you've been here before ?

The wicket is offering a surprisingly amount of turn and bounce so Harris could turn his arm over a bit.

Yeah we have all been there before.. I am a Harris fan.. But like I say, if the conditions don't warrant it, then I don't think he should play.. He's an improvement over anything SA have had in the spin cupboard for a while (not that that says very much).. I also think he's a better spinner than anyone in the Aussie side (never thought I'd be saying that)

Its a chance now for Kallis and Prince to get some match practise!

Go King Go, score a big ton! ;)
I usually never have a problem with Kallis (or Prince) scoring at there normal pace on most instances, but with the situation as it is, I hope they score a little faster.
