I think Sam Spurway was treated worse- at least Gazzard still has a contract. Spurway did little wrong during his short career, and then they brought in Kieswetter.
Also Spurway had the added advantage of not having proven completely useless first.

Good Old Sussex By The Sea!

And still the good times roll. Murray Goodwin is a legend. I am a very happy man tonight.

What will be the point in playing Pro40 next year? If it's already a given that there will no more Pro40 after next season?
Well I suppose it's still worth playing the top flight seems as you can win a trophy, second division is pretty pointless though

Yeah, terrific batsman, but TBH I hope he might sail off into the ICL sunset after now.

Or else be barred from playing again next season because the Kolpak agreement has changed.
How very gracious, and timely, to express the hope that Murray Goodwin might be banned from playing next season. I think your view will be shared by approximately zero percent of cricket lovers. He's been a loyal servant of county cricket and has always been a top bloke as well as a top player. I really couldn't care less (particularly tonight) about him having played ICL cricket.

Worcs now need to play a playoff vs Glamorgan to stay in divison 1. Sad really considering we're defending champions! Our bowling has really cost us this year. The batsmen got us out of a hole a few times but in the end they were just given too much to do too often.

I don't hope he's banned, such a thing is not even possible, I just hope he makes the choice himself. I too have always been a great admirer of Goodwin, think he's a superb batsman and have always been fond of overseas-players who stick it out at one county.

But I don't like the Kolpak ruling and I don't like the ICL. So I hope he either goes back to being an overseas-player or quits the county game in favour of the ICL.

Well I'm glad you've changed your mind since writing the following last night:

I was so chuffed to see Giles Clarke, snarling lap-dog of the BCCI, having to present the winner's medal to Murray after his match-winning performance. It seems that you and GC have a lot in common Richard!

To be fair to Clarke, he hasn't much choice over the issue.

Prey, how is being barred from playing as a Kolpak the same as being banned from playing?

Nah, hate the bastard.

Goodwin still a youngster at 35 in terms of county cricket, give it a year and he would have qualified for england.Whats this trying to get rid of someone already nearly english.
Goodwin for england

You didn't say you hoped he'd be banned from playing as a Kolpak.
No, I said I hoped he'd be barred from playing as one. I wouldn't mind him playing as an overseas-player at all, though naturally I'd hope if he did he terminated his ICL links. Don't expect that for a minute though, you'd be mad to turn-down such sums.
BTW I'm not sure I feel comfortable being described as "prey".
Good jobbers I wasn't describing you as it then.

I feel another Stuart Law coming on.

Only trouble with either playing for England is they're both ICL-ers. So it won't be happening.

Doesn't Goodwin go back to Australia in the winter now he's not playing state cricket any more then?

Re-read your previous email Richard - you didn't.
This is what I said.

Goodwin is currently playing as a Kolpak - if the Kolpak agreement no longer permits players to play again as of next season (may or may not happen) he won't be able to play as one. He could still play as an overseas-player though.

As for "prey", let me help you out - I think you meant "pray".
Meh, one and the same.
