What a great win that was for Essex today, and without Kaneria too, that was a real bonus. I didn't give us a chance when Ravi and Jason were just knocking it around, there wasn't anyone in form who could keep it consistently going at 9 rpo. Grant Flower though, what a legend, Kent must be sick of the sight of him. If only Andy was still playing, it'd be us in Antigua.

In my totally unbiased view i shall go for Steven Davies! Although i cant see anyobe but Broad winning it. Dawson will definitely be one to watch next season.

I'm surprised no ones mentioned the Glamorgan vs Worcs game. 3rd complete wipe out of the season.

Don't think I've ever looked forward to the end of a domestic season so much. Watch us go and throw away our Division 1 status in the Championship now.

Broad and especially Bopara have both been around too long for me to think they deserve it much, Davies also pretty much, Denly and Clare haven't really done all that much, Dawson has barely played first-team cricket. So really it has to be Woakes for mine. No contest.

Grant Flower would do really well to retire at the end of this season now, two notable big one-day knocks. Couldn't go out in a better way.

BTW does anyone know why on Earth Azhar Mahmood has played so little Championship cricket for Kent this season? If he hasn't been injured lots it seems inexplicable he's only played 6 games so far as his performances with bat and ball have been outstanding.

He's had a fair amount of injuries I believe. Old age catching up with him. Still a great performer when fit though.

Wow, is anyone watching the Pro40 game on Sky? Notts vs Sussex. The pitch is an absolute bunsen! Swann and Patel, the two England boys, are absolutely running riot and have ripped through the Sussex middle order. Swann especially has been basically unplayable, just seen a ball that pitched a foot outside off stump go past leg. Its quite refreshing to see a class act such as Swann when conditions suit, as opposed to the trundlers i'm accustomed to seeing when i watch domestic cricket.

Great win for Sussex and Sami and goodwin finishes it in great style.

Sami clearly brought in as a batting all-rounder by Sussex.

Thought they were dead and buried when, as epic mentioned, the two English:-O spinners put on that mid-innings strangle.

Oh and well done Gazzard for steering zummerset to victory, always feel he's been treated unfarly by the club, TBH.

Yeah obviously so many people have said Ealham bowling at the death is such a great idea haven't they? 8-)

I think Sam Spurway was treated worse- at least Gazzard still has a contract. Spurway did little wrong during his short career, and then they brought in Kieswetter.

Yeah, good point actually, would be happy with both of them there, rather then another kolpak.

Odd that in our possible maiden championship, I find it very hard to support them. Yet it's the same with so many counties, at the moment.

What will be the point in playing Pro40 next year? If it's already a given that there will no more Pro40 after next season?
There's an agreement with sponsors. Breaking that would require substantial compensation. And there'd be little to gain by doing so.
