**Official** Australia in West Indies

Whatever it takes!!!
Couldn't watch a ball of this series because our set top box subscription ran out and they are charging unbelievable fees to get it back on.. :(

Sounds like the one series I should have seen though. Been backing the Windies for a long long time now (mainly coz of Lara) but it is great to hear that they may have FINALLY turned the corner. 3 tough fights against Australia shows that they are starting to get parts of the jigsaw in place. Chanderpaul must be at least close to being the best batsman in the world at the moment. And good to see Sarwan and Marshall starting to chip in more. Add Bravo and Gayle in good form to that, it will be a very good batting line up.

Interesting to read about Australia's bowling stocks though. I always felt Johnson was pretty special but he seems to be a very different bowler in tests. Always wonder how he (and Pathan at times) seem to get so much swing with the white ball and yet very little with the red one. But the one thing about Australia is that they always seem to find a way to win even from very bad positions. And as long as some team don't beat them bad (a 2-0 or 3-0) I think that aura will remain with them. Good luck, India and RSA. :)

Honestly, I'm really looking forward to this match just for the Watto/Marsh reason. If either don't play it'll be an absurdity of the highest order. Symonds won't play because of the back and they'll probably rest Ponting as well, also Lee.

Hopes
Marsh
Clarke
Watson
Hussey
Hussey
White
Haddin
Johnson
Bracken
Clark

From what I remember, Haddin's not the greatest T20 player and Clark isn't bad at the format either, though he does seem to have improved in the ODI arena as well in recent times. Not sure about Hopes though, a bit of a weak link. Might be better to have Clarke open and bump him down to 7/8.
That's exactly the team i named

except i had Marsh Watto opening with Hopes at 7
and Ronchi replaces Haddin.. (rest)

wonderful Twenty20 team that one

I'm interested to see if they do. Six months ago, you'd imagine Ponting especially jumping to sit out a T20. Now with all the money involved in that side of the game, I wonder if players like him would rather be there to enhance their earnings potential, and skip an ODI.

So... time for the proper cricket ;)

What do people reckon the Aussie T20 team going to be?

I'd go for:

Marsh
Watson
Ponting
Clarke
Symonds
Hussey (can't decide which!)
Haddin
Hopes
Bracken
Lee
Johnson

That leaves Clark (if Bracken isn't quite fit), the other Hussey and White on the sidelines. Not great bowling options in this squad, are there?
I'd play M Hussey at 4, and drop Hopes for Clark.

Yeah would rather Clark any day, our batting is top notch as it is, so the improvement in bowling that Clark gives is very important.

Haddin has apparently said he wants to rest from the T20 to heal his finger. If Ronchi comes in, they might have him open I guess... so that could impact on the team.

Have to say, even by the risable standards of a number of commentators around the world, Campbel is one of the worst imo.

Haha, every game Ryan Campbell would pump him up here on Aus. TV coverage and he'd fail. Curse of death.
I think he secretly harbours a return to the WA side. Or maybe not so secretly....

Geez, agreed. Shocker.

Guessing:

Perkins
Marshall
Sarwan(c)
Chanderpaul
Andre Fletcher/Keiron Pollard
Dwayne Bravo
Denesh Ramdin
Darren Sammy
Jerome Taylor
Sulieman Benn
Kemar Roach
Yep, they might as well give Roach a go if he's in the squad. Surely Pollard is ahead of Fletcher though, as they seem determined to expose him to international cricket before he's ready.
