Cricinfo is reporting this as the possible/ likely Aussie side:

1 Shaun Marsh, 2 Michael Clarke, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Shane Watson, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 David Hussey, 7 James Hopes, 8 Luke Ronchi (wk), 9 Brett Lee, 10 Mitchell Johnson, 11 Nathan Bracken

Can anyone confirm if it's been announced yet?
Fox sports said this is the team...
Marsh
Watson
Ponting*
Clarke
D Hussey
M Hussey
White
Ronchi+
Hopes
Lee
Johnson

(not sure of the order)

--
Bracken has an injured toe

not the best selection IMO - should've played Clark for someone, perhaps Hopes
there's only about 3 bowlers i trust in that team... Hopes having to bowl 4 overs is not ideal.. and then further another 4 overs from Pup/David/White etc.
Having batting all the way down to 9 is absolutely pointless

Yeah, agreed dire side. Seems like it'll take the Australian team longer than most to work out the importance of good bowlers in Twenty20 cricket and the fact that part timers are nothing more than cannon fodder and have little place in the format.

its like they just aren't paying attention to Twenty20 games... like IPL and stuff
bowlers are so crucial..

having deep batting is pointless because most batsmen in the top order will probably set themselves anyway to score a big one and have momentum (rather than going all out from ball 1)
its not all just ...next, batter up.. etc. from the start of the innings..like the selectors or whatever think..

As much as I love Darsh, and I LOVE DARSH, can someone confirm if Bracken is playing or not? If it's the latter, I'll have to catch a replay sometime. Work weekends. (N)

Gosh, need to explain everything :p

'Agree with the Shaun Marsh love'. See South Park, Aspen episode for the Darsh reference.

My girlfriend would only get the second one. Consider yourself in a relationship, Saggers.

Also -

"At this minute, the thing I'm most looking forward to is watching Shaun Marsh bat."

AFP have the same side as:

Ricky Ponting (captain), Michael Clarke (vice captain), James Hopes, David Hussey, Michael Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Brett Lee, Shaun Marsh, Luke Ronchi, Shane Watson, Cameron White.

Agree with all the comments above... nowhere near enough bowling. Though I guess there's no specialist spinner in the squad, so it's not that surprising as DHussey/Clarke/White() may have to bowl a few anyway.

I don't hate the side.

Johnson Lee Watson Hopes can all bowl the 4 overs, and 4 overs shared by Clarke and DHussey will be fine.

Absolutely crazy having Lee at 10 and Johnson at 11.

I think it was fair enough having Hopes at 8, but with him at 9 (or White/Ronchi at 9..) that team simply does not have enough bowlers. In a scary way, it almost seems as if they're picking Cameron White as a specialist bowler.

I think it seems a bit strange... after all, Hopes may yet open. And that leaves two from probably Ronchi/White/Watson/DHussey to bat 8 and 9.

I can only presume they don't want to pick Clark for some reason, and that they want to play Bracken in a warm-up match first because of his injury.

The players listed to sit out the warm-up on Sunday are Lee, Ponting, Haddin and Symonds.
