Sources inside the Australian cricket team have revealed that all-rounder Andrew Symonds has fallen out with teammates after recent incidents on and off the field. The players are finding him over aggressive and increasingly petulant. Symonds once enjoyed the strong support of Michael Clarke and Matt Hayden in particular. But Clarke's elevation to the leadership group as vice-captain has meant he has to put professionalism and team discipline before friendship. Hayden is in Queensland and the team is missing his influence on his fellow Bull.

Source: Courier Mail, last Saturday.

Doesn't surprise me really. It certainly ties in with what a couple of cricket journalists have written about Symonds.

Lol, doesn't have the talent to justify the ego I'm afraid.

Sounds like a lot of drivel TBH, "Sources inside the Australian cricket team", fair guesses at what this source actually is anyone?

Sure they might not adore the guy but this just sounds like gossip rag stuff.

...yeah, stuff that you never hear about any of the other guys...just Symonds.

Read what people like Malcolm Conn and Peter Roebuck (journalists who have actually toured with him) have written about what he's like.

The fact that he's a **** comes of no surprise, but the fact that some of his teammates are sick of it is. I've always thought he was a very popular personality in the locker room?

He's proudly bogan, and uses it as a selling point, and its why he's loved by so many fans. So suddenly now he's pissed people off?

Its like Stone Cold Austin - next he's going to crack a chair over Brett Lee's head and turn completely into a heal - start showing up wearing expensive clothes boasting about how he's richer than all you losers in the stands.

Cricinfo is reporting this as the possible/ likely Aussie side:

1 Shaun Marsh, 2 Michael Clarke, 3 Ricky Ponting (capt), 4 Shane Watson, 5 Michael Hussey, 6 David Hussey, 7 James Hopes, 8 Luke Ronchi (wk), 9 Brett Lee, 10 Mitchell Johnson, 11 Nathan Bracken

Can anyone confirm if it's been announced yet?

Not sure, but fairly happy with that side. Would personally have Clark over Hopes though. Four better overs is much better than batting down to 8 in Twenty20s.

Have you got any links to their articles at all mate? It's not that I don't believe you, I'd just really like to read them if they're available online. It's certainly an interesting turn of events.
