He was suggesting the only major difference between Anderson and Broad was Anderson's head position on the point of delivery, looking down, and that this may possibly be the cause of his inconsistency, but not definitely.

Also Athers (I think it was ) added that he has returned to the style in which he used to bowl after efforts made from Troy Cooley to alter his action so his head is not so obviously looking at the floor.
Thanks, mate.

Just as I predicted. Weather and gloom is going to get in the way of this series. Nothing worse than two days with only 270 on the board, Highly unlikely to be a result imo
I tend to disagree, yes, 270 on the board ..but the other thing is nine wickets...(almost 10)

if the next 3 days are good... whatever England do in the 1nd innings, a result is still likely i recn

It is amazing that after 5 years we are all saying the same old stuff about someone so obviously flawed that it is impossible to develop the consistency to be a decent Test bowler.
I know you attribute the head position to Anderson's problems, but I think that it is only half the story. Few bowlers actually pay full attention to the spot they want to pitch the ball at the moment of delivery. Although the weight going toward the floor is hardly ideal, I feel that that would cause length inconsistency rather than the line inconsistency which he has now. I believe that his 'powerful' release of the ball, with a powerful wrist snap could be a partial reason for his line inaccuracy (and even explain why he is great when in rhythm) since a slight falling away in the action means that the wrist powers it either down the leg side or outside off.

...or am I talking out my arse on this issue?

I'm off, will listen to Martin and Mills (With help from Southee) bowling England out for 120-130.
