**Official** New Zealand in England

With the amount these first 2 balls have swung, this could be over quickly.

As, worryingly, could our innings.

I wonder if NZ missed out by not going after the old ball once it reached 70 overs or so. I know it was harder once Oram had gone, but those were always likelier to be the easier runs. Mind you, that will all look pretty silly if Southee makes another 70.

Brilliant over from Sidebottom. 3 1/2 LBW shouts of which one definitely could have been given, plus a bowled.

I suppose Broad got the new ball because Vaughan didn't see the point in Anderson having a single over before lunch? Presumably Jimmy will be on after the break.

Nice to see us get to lunch, we should reach 290-300 IMO then we will have a good chance. Might stay up to see how this goes.

Nice session's batting from Vettori. Hope he can get through to 50 after lunch.

I doubt that. With Southee facing, and looking clueless against Sidebottom, I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't add anything after the break.

Vettori just needs to get out, then Southee will do something. Or am I being to optimistic? :p

If Sidebottom produces another over like his last, England will be batting the second over after lunch.

Woodster

Yes hoping England will finish this off fairly sharply after lunch. Not gonna be easy for Cook and Strauss early on if NZ's bowlers get it right. An intriguing afternoon session ahead.

How surprising from Mr Negativity.
I suppose you are a New Zealander, but it would be nice if you break the mold and not be such a pessimist

(Expecting something about "being realistic" as a comebacker)
