Nadal is only 250 points behind Federer now and Feds has quite a few points to defend before the French, I think at some stage before Roland Garros Nadal will become world number one for at least a bit...

Can't believe Simon hasn't posted about Haas' win over Roddick yet :p

Was an awesome win in straight sets. Haas was paying quite generously, so I had a little flutter not expecting too much, and he pulled through.

Since Haas hasn't been in the best of form previously to this tournament Haas has paid well against all his opponents (was actually the underdog vs. Julien Benneteau). Hopefully he can possibly win this thing.

win it?!?!
Haha Jono that didn't even cross my mind, I never thought I'd say it but I think he's finished, his win over Roddick was good, but he's got a great record against him, let's not get carried away about his form, he's been shocking this year.

I'd be pleased if he finished the year inside the top 30...

His draw is good, and he's very much a form player. You'd think he'd get past the next round.

That being said, if you've lost all faith, then Haas must be done. :(

Still can't believe he's only 29 tbh. What could have been with him, and Marat Safin too. :(

form player? got belted 0 and 4 by Ferrer in Dubai, fair enough he beat Roddick, but I'm not gonna expect too many more wins like that this season.

to be fair, safin is clearly in a different class both as a player and as a basket case....

Tommy with a good fighting win over over Murray today, hopefully he can take a few games off Federer in the quarters.

Nadal really had to dig deep against Tsonga too, good job from him...

Lol true.
Lol, only 29.
Man, I remember watching and playing as Haas in Virtua Tennis forever. Haas is in like every tennis video game for the last 10 years, and he's still under 30.

Btw, awesome to see Haas continue his winning ways  Too bad he's just about to hit Federer (providing Ljubicic doesn't suddenly become a good player).

I admit I know nowt about tennis, but surely losing to Mardy Fish can't be a good thing:unsure:
federer losing to fish isn't a good thing at all..it sounds like he brushed off the defeat as of little consequence but i am not so sure, let's see what he does in the leadup to rolland garros...

I love Mardy Fish, and he's had a brilliant run this tournament, but not only did Roger lose to him, he was wiped off the court.

Federer is definitely not the force he once was, he just didn't lose matches like that 2-3 years ago.

In the mean time Djokovic schooled Nadal in straight sets as well. I really thought that match would be a ripsnorter.

Everything is set for this to be Djokovic's year!

In a way you have to feel for Nadal, he's been unbroken world #2 for longer than anyone ever and finally Federer looks to be falling away and Nadal could become number 1 and here comes this punk kid Djokovic to overtake both. Novak is currently the worlds best player and I don't think the Grand Slam is beyond him this year.

In a "I'm one of the best tennis players in the world but I'll still whinge about crowds because I'm a ****ing pratt" kind of way. Of course people are going to cheer for Federer, he's actually likeable.

And yeah, he does impressions. Wow. Only makes him seem like more of a ****wit to me.

I reckon people were cheering Federer because they wanted to see a 5-set match, and Djokovic was wiping the floor with him. Generally, unless their countrymen is playing, fans will cheer for whoever is losing to try and get as much tennis as possible. Even against players like Agassi the crowd would cheer on the underdog in Australia.

I find Djokovic more likeable than Federer actually. I love Federer, but this whole idea that he's really modest is one of the biggest myths in tennis. He has an arrogance about him, its not a Jason Akermanis arrogance but its there, and he gets very bitter when he loses. Doesn't take away from the man, he's still a legend, but I'd love to see someone point out Djokovic having a cry like Federer did during the Wimbledon final vs. Nadal. I mean whinging at Hawkeye?

And so pretty much him whinging about the crowd was the thing that made you not like him? Because I doubt you disliked him prior to that, when he first became famous for his impersonations. And he does a whole lot of other funny stuff which makes him awesome, like sing and joke around with Antonio Banderas

Federer's about as arrogant as it gets, but he's got a charm about him. Djokovic doesn't have that charm, and hence, to me, and just about everybody I know (there are always exceptions) it makes him irritating. His spat in Davis Cup last year (or possibly the year before) was pretty crap, and hasn't helped his image in my eyes.

I've gone on record before saying that I don't really like Federer much and I couldn't wait until his dominance of everything ended, and so I'm quite happy to see someone rise from the ashes to challenge him. Just wish it was someone that came across to me as a likeable guy so I could get behind him.
