*Official* English Football Season 2007-08

I remember someone mentioning that when we had a discussion on here about whether Celtic could/should move over to the English Leagues, as they would be facing the same problem. From memory, i think its true, but i'm not a hundred percent sure.

All this discussion of Europe has piqued my interest. I read somewhere (Facebook, actually) today that even if Cardiff win the FA Cup, something to do with the fact that they're not based in the country whose league they play in means they'd be ineligible to enter the UEFA Cup.

Also, they are ineligible to play in the Welsh League, as they have been playing in the English league so long that their official registration dates back to before there was a Welsh League.

In effect, this means that Cardiff can't qualify for Europe, no matter what happens - is this true? Surely it can't be?
The short answer is that I don't know, but given Monaco (a Principality like Wales) unproblematically represent France in Yurp (made the CL final in 2004 if memory serves) I'd be doubtful.

I guess the situation may be complicated by the fact yer leekists have their own FA & I don't know if Monaco does, but I still reckon it'd be tight. But funny, obv. :D

Fair play to the Scousers. Four clubs from one country in the quarters, is that unprecedented?

Some irony that said country failed to make the top 16 nations in Europe as well, one fancies.

Yeah, absolute gun - TBH he was the one striker above all others I was hoping United would sign. I was always a massive fan of his with Atletico, even when he wasn't scoring as prolifically. Just oozed class.

Imagine how much better Liverpool's season might be had Benitez actually played him regularly during the first half of the season.

Although all is well very disappointed United didn't get Torres, him & Rooney along with Ronaldo would have made a fantastic attacking trio, but Tevez has been a brilliant second option so no worries.

It's not really no worries, we still haven't got an out and out goalscorer, given we haven't got Tevez and Benzema looks the real deal, we need Benzema IMO.
