Ignore if you dont like the persons. Why do you make hell out it. I kindly request the mates in this thread to ignore the person whom do you think are spoiling the atmosphere. Why do you make a lot hell by discussing offtopic.

Funny mate to make personal attacks. I still assure you that someone will personal attack after this post too..

What was that about ?

I couldnt find anything so I presumed you were goading me to say something on the subject. Hence I did. And you know me. If it can be said in a 1000 words why limit oneself :)
That was in response to your post about Karthik. Yeah, I probably shouldn't have made it seem like I was predicting the future. :)

Placing posters on ignore lists is fine. Yet, if a point comes along where many established posters have no choice but to put one guy on their respective ignore lists, one should realize that something serious is going on. The occasional enmity between two posters can be resolved using an ignore list but everyone having the same guy on their ignore lists says a lot.

Completely true...i, for one, have never and will never put anyone on my ignore list...i just dont believe that its right. This situation has gotten out of control IMO...i think it wud be best if we could just move on and forget this...there is no other way to resolve it now.Lets move on and build the atmosphere CW is famous for....the members of this forum are like one big family and arguments always brk out within a family. BUT...the special thing abt family is that the members can always move on, forgive and forget....i think thats what we need to do!

Whatever it takes!!!
Oh of course. He is not hopeless.

I was just trying to show how many of the fielders in today's side have a problem compared to whatseemed to be an improving Indian side last year.

I have no doubt Karthik can turn out to be one outr our better fielders.
yeah and also, he is being put at so many different positions, both as a batsman and as a fielder. It is interesting that established guys like Sachin and Ganguly don't seem to enjoy changing their batting positions even once in a while and yet, youngsters like Karthik and perhaps Raina keep getting pushed up and down in the order. IF the team management seriously believes that Karthik can be good at no.3, then he should play there in the next game too. He has had two failures and that is not enough reason to drop a guy who was in seriously good form over the previous games.....

The same with him as a fielder. He is there at slips, he was there at covers and he has been there at point. He was at gully for a while, he stands at leg slip, at short leg, at silly point, in the deep sometimes... He seriously seems to have fielded everywhere. That is not the best way to get the best fielding out of him, esp. since playing as a fielder itself is a new thing to him....

Sure.

A very interesting thing happened to me in this regard.

Therewas a time when Richard used to keep getting into these massive debates witha poster. I think it was someone called tooextracool. It came to a point that if you were away from a thread for a couple of hours and came back to look at the last few posts, you saw nothing but pages (beleive me it could be dozens of pages) of posts between the two of them. The others justcouldnt be located in the mountain of posts these two guys posted trying to score pointless points over each other.

I finally decided that the only way to be able to wade through CW was to put both these guys on my ignore list. Immediately the pages became easier to manage. I must mention here that there posts used to foot long on an average !!

This went on for quite some time and then in a conversation, I dont know how, I letslip that Richard was on my ignore list. Richard was very upset and wrote to me thatthis wasvery disappointing for him and asked me to remove him from the same. I did propmptly and we are good friends though I dont dare to get into an argument with him still

Sure . Great sentiments.

But dont you think that its better for people to ignore each other rather than hurl abuses ?

And it is an interesting point , btw, to think that we are 3-1 up in this series and KP's biggest contribution has been with the ball in getting Tendulkar out. Remembering also that our main ODI succsess since his debut was in the CB series - in which he played one game - and one wonders why his individual sucsess has not contributed to team victories. Hmmmm.....
Ha, I was thinking the same thing on the way to work yesterday (yeah, sometimes I am that sad). When KP first burst onto the scene in the ODI series in SA in 04/05 we actually got a pretty thorough thrashing despite his bravura performances. It seems like most of his great ODI innings have been in losing causes; I can think of two exceptions off the top of my head: his 91 v the Aussies in 2005 & his ton v the Windies in the WC (although that was mainly for pride anyway). There are probably more, but it is an interesting issue.

I wonder if there's possibly too much of a temptation amongst the other batsmen to think (subconsciously) "Ah, well there's always KP to come" & when he's not there they knuckle down more.

I wonder when we'll discuss the cricket again. 8-)
me to wonder about the same. As Nishant said, we need to forgot about what had happened and live as if we live as a Family. Dont we have quarrels in our family sometimes? Nishant explained it perfectly in his last post.

Its unfortunate that KP does well and the team loses in many cases. However, the kind of debut he had is really fantastic. Noone ever had such a great debut in Cricket IMO as far as I remember in my cricketing days.

Lovely man with a long bat!

Even now, his overall odi average is massively affected by the SA series in 2005. Here's a few random thoughts ..

What with playing his first proper games (after a handful in Zim), returning to his homeland, and all the unpleasantness from the SA crowds, plus his burning desire to prove himself anyway, he has never been as motivated & focused as he was in those games. Recent whining about the amount of cricket he's having to play doesn't suggest that he is remotely as hungry as he was two and a half years ago, which may be reflected in his more recent performances. And maybe sides have, to some extent, worked him out now.

It doesnt look good if you have a player in your side who performs only when he is hungry or when he is challenged. You cant expect the international cricket to be always challenging. The reason for writing this is that I heard from a commentator that KP performs exceptionally well when he has got the challenge.

Its time for KP to understand and take every innings as a bit of challenge. Andy should have a chat about this. Ofcourse KP will learn on this when he has got more years of experience on his back.

Haha, take a look at that lineup. Seven batsmen followed by Agarkar, Powar, Chawla and Zaheer - deepest Indian ODI lineup over the past decade?

Gambhir, you better score today!

Most obvious post of the day: India need to win this match, then the next match then the next match to win the series. Basically every game is do or die. Moving along, not on Foxtel ffs. Dire.
