And that's the end of the match. Asterix XI won by 6 wickets.
Doobie Bombers 206-10
Asterix XI 207-4

Finished inside 44 overs, Baird once again proving useful with 40*. Watkins was dismissed for 95, at least he has an average for the season now.

Awesome, these two from the same team that Rodgie mentioned:

Dinanath Ajaad £25,000 (The Flown Canaries)
Plays for: Dealers Stamina: superb W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 19 years old Batting: proficient Concentration: proficient
BT Rating: 44,484 Bowling: remarkable Consistency: proficient
Deadline: 29/01/2007 21:12 Fielding: competent

2. Agnelo Dissanayake £50,000 (Kent Hawks)
Plays for: Dealers Stamina: superb W/Keeping: worthless
Age: 23 years old Batting: respectable Concentration: respectable
BT Rating: 77,395 Bowling: exquisite Consistency: remarkable
Deadline: 29/01/2007 21:12 Fielding: abysmal

Pity the latter is a spinner though, defensive one at that.

Ratings, worse than last week due to the sale of Malik (who was replaced by a comp/woeful seamer):
Code:
[B] Doobie Bombers Asterix XI[/B]
Top Order: proficient exceptional
Middle Order: proficient respectable
Lower Order: abysmal woeful
Seam Bowling: quality proficient
Spin Bowling: superb elite
Fielding: competent feeble
Think I'll be the only team with two wins once the other matches finish.

Edit: Whitehorne gets MotM, though Watkins (95 and 1-36) and Ashton (4 catches, 2 stumpings and 59) were impressive too.

One of the best ever wins in SD XI history today. Winning against HUNSS, represents a huge step forward for me, after getting mauled By Sriram and his bunch, in the league that Roberts is in. I had some trepidation about going to L III again, but the tactics that I had set before seemed to have worked(winning the toss probably helped), and we registered a 21 run victory.:D:D

First ever Strong top order rating as well:D.

Sad Decadent XI won the toss and elected to bat.
Reporter's Summary
Sad Decadent XI HUNSS
Top Order: strong strong

My opponents got through to 242-8 thanks to some poor death bowling that was unable to finish of their innings. My wicket-takers were expensive whilst the other three bowlers were far more economical but not as lethal. I'm making easy work of the chase and we are 141/0 after 21 overs with Ludlow unbeaten on 87 (77 balls) and Ohalloran on 48 (51 balls).

Gleeson's fitness level taking a hammering with game time and nets. Need a fill in bowler for the next few weeks against the bot teams until he gets back to sublime or whatever. Anyone got a comp/feeb they don't need? Nothnig flash; jsut aneed a 5th bowler to make up the overs without getting (embarrassingley) tonked by the bots.

Scored a thrilling 2 wicket win yesterday. In my division there are 3 sides that I regard as my main threats towards glory and promotion to I.1 . I've now seen off two of them, although yesterdays match was a lot closer than I had initially anticipated. They batted first and were 101/1 at one stage before Sweeney (4/45) and Vermaak (2/32) were able to put the breaks on. We eventually had them all out for 184.

Our reply was not so good. Ealy on we were 9/2 with Duggan (4) already out. Lennon (68) and Waddell (66) added 123 for the 3rd wicket to get us the majority of the way there. But after we had a mini collapse. We were gradually reduced to 176/8, needing 9 to win. Vermaak and Sweeney were there to get us home.

Seam Bowling: strong superb
Spin Bowling: superb superb
Fielding: feeble mediocre
We also pocketed a cool £295k in gates after falling about 250 short of selling out the new look 41,000 seat Airbase Road at the first attempt. Next week we face surprise early leaders reverse sweepers and tbh, we should win that without too much trouble.
