He had faced Shoaib Akhtar - deposited him over the midwicket boundary. Did the same to Lee a few days ago as well.

That shot is the least of his problems from what I've seen. He seems to struggle against the angle from left arm bowlers.. could possibly have similar problems if a right arm bowler went around the wicket as well.

Their bowling is quite obviously good enough, with Vettori, Bond & Oram top line ODI bowlers imo, with Gillespie, Franklin & Patel as handy backups.

I was at the match and there were a few around me discussing that. There's a mental component to games (of course) and Australia simply daunts some players/teams. I don't think NZ will be daunted next time we meet, we'll have to earn our win.

this england side would be lucky if they even manage to remain in top 5 team bracket leave alone thoughts of global domination they have 2 blokes KP and freddie and there is so much burden on them to perform that they will get drained and exhausted mentally and physically its already started taking its toll on fred,and englandr wierd selection policies are good enough to ensure that young talent will be ruined and gutted.eg:- mahmood,panesar,etc.

I think theres a case for ryan watson opening the batting for england in odis actually. Averages 30 in list a which aint bad compared to those in the side already and hes a seriously explosive player. When he gets a big 50/ 100 the game is yours. Certainly a better bet than strauss. ODS only mind
