You see, the great thing about not being able to bat for $hit is that this doesn't matter. :D

Is there anyone here who shouldn't be playing Test cricket?!
This thread almost made me violently ill. You would think that some national teams would be gagging to get at some of the talent on here if people are to be believed.

Anyhoo, my turn.

Bowling.

I bowl legspin - particularly well some days, and not so on others. Depending on the type of pitch and my rhythm, I will either bowl orthodox, or flatter Kumble-style leggies. I have a wrong 'un that usually goes, a pretty trustworthy toppie and a flipper that works once every blue moon.

I, too, like others on this board, can bowl occasionally accurately with both arms, and I am lucky enough to be co-ordinated enough to mimic most international bowlers, even South African Paul Adams with his 'frog in a blender' action (in fact, it's a lot easier to bowl the googly like he does than a normal chinaman with that action). I have bowled a Muralitharan ball in Dunedin senior cricket (the main city in the Otago province), and the umpire didn't pick it up, but the rest of my team loved it.

Batting.

I have one 53* and a 49 in my career. That's it. My technique isn't too bad, but the concentration isn't there - I'm usually thinking about a beer after the game. The team I play for in the small town I live in at the moment bats me at three, but I am better around 8-9, when there is very little pressure.

Fielding

Concentration is again the killer. I can take some great catches, and then drop some absolute goobers.

I guess my highlight has been playing alongside players like Mark Richardson and Brendon McCullum at senior club level.

bowling

bowl fast,i can swing it a bit but rely more on line and legnth for wickets.my average last year was 14(i think).and i can't bowl spin to save my life.and i cant bowl inswing cause it feels realy weird.

batting

I try to be very technicaly sound when playing defensive, but i allways seem to lose style when i go on the attack.I got bowled only once last year and i played 16 games :) but i got out being caught to wide ones which i hit badly(lack of foot movement probably).my average last year was 22 and my highest score was 46*.Rember,at my age(12)we only play 20 over games.

feilding

I try to be a good feilder,i practice at it,but i'm allways scared of stopping the ball clean when its moving realy fast,i know this makes me sound like a wuss, but it hurts a lot.

So, a cross between Saggers, Tresco and, um, Ashish Nehra, then?

Alright here's what I honestly think about my abilities as a cricketer. Though, I haven't played real cricket in 7 years, most of my skills are with me:

Medium fast bowling: This is my main bowling style. I tend to swing the ball both ways, but not at will, yet. I try to never bowl the same kind of delivery twice in the same over, fast on the first , slow on the second, etc. I have taken two hat-tricks with this style of bowling so far.

Fast bowling: I have had more bad games as a pacer than good ones. I've still managed to take wickets, but get hammered by batsmen as well. I have trouble bowling yorkers, but when I do, they are deadly.

Spinner: Not much of a turner, but I manage to surprise the hell outta myself. I have taken a good number of my wickets with my off-spinning. Since it doesn't spin much normally, every once in a while when it does spin it takes me and the batsman by surprise, thus allowing me to take a wicket or two.

Batsman: Terrible at scoring. No timing whatsoever. Always batted at no. 9, 10, and 11 position. I am able to defend the stumps for a long time, thus annoying the hell outta the bowler. I was always sent in when the wickets were falling fast.

Fielder: Above average. Quick reflexes. At times missed a lot of easy catches, but always caught the hard ones. Never really understood why? I was never afraid to dive for the ball.
