Who is the worst player of all time that would be selected in every XI in history?

Also South Africa opened with 2 seam bowling allrounders in the 60s both of whom were better than Watson (Goddard and Barlow).

Also re Watson he would hardly break into a top 6 of Greenidge, Haynes, Richardson, Richards, Gomes, Lloyd and you obviously wouldn't drop a bowler for him.

Like I said earlier I think it is Bruce Reid as the Windies would've loved his left-arm variety and he'd make any other team.

Donald Pollock Schultz (maybe)

Agree with the first, but not the 2nd.
Reid doesn't break into the Johnson's Ashes attack either IMO. Siddle was very good then and he's a containing bowler so different role too.

Trying to think of the best attack Davo would've played in. But Reid is a very good shout too. Once we get into nitpicking, we circle back to ATVG batsman at 5/6.

Would Shaun Pollock make the best West Indian team? Yes imo but arguably too good a player. Flintoff/Cairns is maybe the sweet spot of a bloke that can get in a lot of these teams on bowling alone, but offers enough with the bat too.
In a heart beat. He would be an awesome foil to bowlers who try to blast batting lineups, by restricting runs, and plotting his little battles over batsmen and winning them. Very much like Garner, but improvement on the field and vast improvement with the bat. Only Garner, Marshall and Ambrose average less than Pollock with the ball.

Afridi wouldn't make most sides throughout history
He would make the SL ODI team of 1996, and teams of 2000s EASILY. He was one of the missing elements which could have made us scary good. A lower order hitter. In 1996 team, he would replace Kumar Dharmasena, better bat, better bowler, although Kumar was one ****ing impressive fieldsman. He would be perfect foil for Murali with the ball. In 2000s, once again would have been perfect to come after relatively sedentary Sanga, Jaya and Mathews. He was way better than Thissara Perera as alower order hitter.

jadeja is an atg; he is not at as good a bowler as herath is, that's misinformation.

the thing is, however, the construction of that team renders jadeja otiose in that everything he does is already fulfilled. dilruwan perera is there bc he turns it the other way to herath, jadeja doesn't do that, jadeja does not replace dilruwan
Jadeja can even replace Herath.

What's all this about Watson?

There are plenty of teams he wouldn't make including most Auatralian teams. He wouldn't get close to making the current side with Warner and Khawaja opening and Green as an allrounder. He wouldn't even make the NZ team that lost 3-0 (horror tour) sans the injured Bond to England in 2004 (Richardson and Fleming opened, while Cairns, Oram, and Vettori were better allrounders).
Watson literally will walk in to any ODI side any time in the history. Bloke is probably the best all rounder who plays at top of the order.

Crowe actually a very solid shout.

Who else averages around 45? That should be enough to see off the 5th or 6th bat in any team, even if tight.

Pollock and Jadeja comfortably makes the teams in their respective arguments lol Dilruwan Perera?!

Actually I wanna throw Kapil, Botham, Cairns in the ring.

All replace Gomes/Hooper and all replace Lee or later on, Symonds. They've all got the bowling Watto didn't quite have to sneak into teams stacked for batting.

Oh and Laxman. Everyone wants Laxman. Ganguly?
