The word was pr!ck. Not too bad eh?

Also when I say he was a bit of a pri!ck i mean in the way he seemed stubborn and with no respect. Which Test did he not turn up for the Toss?
He turned up for the toss for every test.....there wouldnt have been any matches if he had'nt :scooter:

For India:

Australia - Ponting (WC2003 simply takes the cake !!),
Gilchrist (never seems to go cheaply),
McGrath (gets Sachin in key matches, dunno what is McGrath capable of now though..)
and Hayden (to satisfy people who look at 2001 series.. He was frustating but he couldn't win the series, so its ok ;))

Pak -
used to be Anwar..
now maybe Inzi

Saf -
Pollock
Gibbs

SL-
Jayasuriya (not lately though)

Yes he kept Waugh waiting but that was just once and another time a big hullabaloo was created about his claiming to have won a toss which he had allegedly lost.

Yes he seems arrogant but thats because we judge him by the "accepted Indian standards" of meek guys wagging their tails and turning cartwheels to appear to be decent guys waiting to be trampled over.

The fact is that he was different from Indian captains before him but no worse than the many Australian and some English captains that we have seen.

The Indian media, as is its colonial habit, joined the band wagon when the visitors including the foregn media indicted Ganguly.

This is including ODI's remember and Gilly absolutely smashed the Indian attack. You also can't forget that 100 in the first test of the 2001 series. IIRC he did OK in the 99-00 series aswell. Not higher than Hayden and Ponting but still he has had an impact

Certainly enjoys playing India in the Shorter version of the game with an average of 43 but in tests, he only averages 29 against them (after ten matches) as opposed to 54 for his career.

Bevan.

We just can't get him out in ODIs when we have Australia 5 down for less than 100!

Kallis is a legend. His fighting innings of 99 against Australia is one of my favourite knocks. I was annoyed as hell when we ran him out.
Jacques Kallis is one of my favourite players, but when he's efforlessly scoring century after century and not even looking like getting out, you start to get a bit annoyed.
