Safe to say though all eyes will be on him next summer. his weakness against left handers may help Cook and Strauss but KP, Trott and Bell best be in good nick or he will destroy them.

I'm more worried about Morkel and Tahir than Steyn. Little Dale's outswingers have been seen before and dealt with!

Anderson isn't really being discussed by me......

But while we are on the subject. Anderson then went back to Oz land a second time and ripped the Aussies a new one in every sense.

When Steyn went back to England, he was still rubbish!

As the famous song goes: "Might trick me once, but I won't let you trick me twice! (Unless you are Dale Steyn in England!)"
 what are you ranting on about? He averages 29 in England. Considering how good of a side England has been over the past few years that's actually quite good. If that was his average in flat track sub-continent pitches it would be seen as a very good one.

The only thing England has on Steyn is his little Essex stinch that he did a long time ago.

You must have looked at the wrong record. He averages 36 in England actually. But I do agree though that its far from "rubbish" and he only played a few matches there its not like he played 10 or something.

2 games- 3 innings to be precise, which is a nothing sample. (btw why did he miss a game? injury?).
guess what he still managed to take 8 wickets but conceded a bit too many runs.

This avg shouldn't even be mentioned.

The Cricketer magazine in England claimed, in this months issue, that James Anderson is the best test bowler in the world. Don't know what right they have to say that. If he was top of the rankings then fine, if they said it was in their opinion it would be fine but they stated is a fact when it isn't. They went on about how Anderson averages 23 since the beginning of 2010, well I have news for them Steyn averages better than that since the start of the 2010. The English public and media need to realise that just because they haven't seen somebody bowl as much it doesn't mean they are not as good.

Missed 2 games due to injury, so yes.

Well there is no excuse for that. If he wants to be considered a top teir ATG by the end of his career he can't just go around giving out runs like that. This is something he has to work on.

are you serious? He can't have a bad match once in a while? The first match that was played at Lords ruined his figure.. it was a drawn match with so many big hundreds from both sides. He got 7 wickets @25 in the 2nd test.. don't see the problem with that.

you realize it happened more 3 years ago, when he was probably a bit inconsistent.

Anderson's getting close with his amazing consistency in recent times, but Steyn is still top dog for me. Anderson has to emulate what Steyn did in Indian to match him
