I'm pretty sure they tried to make the pitches livelier than usual.You know CA asked for it?
Maybe there was some pressure after the Brisbane test, which was the flattest I'd seen it in some time, but it was really only Melbourne and, especially, Sydney that had more grass coverage than normal. And you can put it down to the fact that we had some of the wettest summers that I've ever experienced.
There was a high number of draws in November 2010, in India, the UAE and then in the brisbane test. So I believe Cricket Australia told the groundsmen to leave a little bit more grass on it than they would usually. Wasn't anything extremely dramatic though.
Interestingly enough no team scored more than 300 in the first innings of the match, and only once did the team batting in the second innings not make 400, England at Perth FTR.
Yeah, AWTA.Yes, I don't think the pitches were anything extraordinary compared to previous years, like you say a couple were a little greener due to the wet summer. I thought they were actually more greener this past Aussie summer than the previous tbh.
