Pattinson reminds me quite a bit of Dale Steyn, with his fast outswingers and aggressive approach.

I agree that Cummins has some improving to do, but I think we have to remember that he is only 18, and has more than enough time to improve, he probably won't peak until 8-10 years in the future.

Pattinson looked very promising from whatever little I saw of him. My money on this day - 09th April, 2012 - would still be on Philander to run through a side quicker than any other fast bowler in the world.

It's so frustrating hearing these English commentators and pundits keep raving about Anderson and Broad as the best "new ball pair" in world cricket. They're both top class but give me Steyn and Philander any day.

Do you really think South African pundits would be doing anything other than raving about Steyn and Philander?

It's still Zaheer Khan. He's far better than Ishant and Praveen even with all his injuries. The rest are just medium pacers so don't know why they're an option.

Well of course not, but that's because Steyn and Philander are better than Anderson/Broad.

Ftr I voted Steyn but if I were to choose one bowler to bowl for me tomorrow it would be Philander.

Oh right, guess that's that then.

Not quite got the hang of forums yet?

And what are you twelve?
Nah. Just letting you know that it is a minority (mostly made up of English fans) that would take Anderson/Broad over Steyn/Philander. Pull the cotton off of your eyes mate.

If I was pushed, I might take Philander and Steyn. But making out it's clear cut is absolute bollocks.

There are strong arguments to suggest Broad>Philander and more to suggest Anderson is close to Steyn on current form or the last couple of years even.

But I guess this is the wrong place to be having a discussion

Sadly you're right - it is the wrong place :(
