Agreed Pollock hasn't been mentioned and it's a crime.
Kallis I would agree with, though his bowling is poor these days. He was terrible yesterday and performance like that are becoming too regular for him to be called an all rounder (or certainly a true all rounder as Mister Wright labelled him). And people are giving Razzak stick!
I think test matches are the test of a true all rounder. THere are several players who can do a job in ODIs (Flintoff, Gayle, Klusener, probably others), but in tests, most of these players are ineffective with the ball.
As a result, the closest to fitting the bill are Pollock first and Kallis second IMO. Kallis has concentrated on his batting and become a batsman who bowls almost, hence SA picking 6 bowlers in ODIs because they don't trust him to get through 10 overs.
I won't knock his batting though - test average 53 and ODI average 46 puts him up there with some of the very best all time, so add on his bowling and he is certainly a most valuable player.
During yesterdays game they flashed up the list of highest averages and only Bevan, Zaheer Abbas, Glenn Turner and are ahead of him. In terms of hundreds/innings, Kallis probably ranks about 12th. Only Lara, Haynes, Kirsten, Richards, Dean Jones, Ganguly and Tendulkar can compete in terms of 50s/innings.
If I've lost you, the point I was trying to make is maybe that Kallis isn't even an all rounder any more. He was early in his career, and his bowling figures will stay impressive because of that, but he has sacrificed his bolwing a little to improve himself as a batsman (to great effect).
As a result, my vote for top all rounder goes to Pollock. He is the only player with a realistic shot at the moment of joining (or rather creating) the double 3000/300 club.
I won't attempt to rank them, but all time top ten all rounders must include Imran, Kapil, Botham, Hadlee, Sobers, Miller, Kallis and Pollock.
In terms of numbers, Heath Streak probably wouldn't be far off, but given his bowling averages are higher than his batting averages, it's hard to include him in the same bracket. He would probably in a second group alongside the likes of Cairns, Razzaq, Klusener, Wasim and Flintoff.
Kallis looks like ending up with Sobers like numbers, and Pollock looks like ending up with Imran or Hadlee like numbers.
