I really don't know, Yuvraj is clearly superior in every way
if thats your opinion then its fine by me. but IMO you cant judge yuv as a test player yet.
as far as swapping with flintoff goes (which is what this thread is about) i'm against it as flintoff would be pretty useless for us (for reasons i have already stated)

NB: (i chose to ignore your sarcasm) :D

I would like you to hv a quick look again at the rules:
Players have to be of same nature : batsman for a batsman, wk for wk, etc
Both players involved should be a regular part of their test teams for atleast a year.
If u wish to swap an ODI specialist, thats fine but the other swap must be an ODI specialist as well.
Since Yuvraj hasn't been a regular part of the "TEST" team, he cannot be swapped.
Also Yuvraj is a specialist batsman, Flintoff an all-rounder...
So this swap actually breaks 2 rules.

Apart from that, players like Chopra, Papps (who is new as well), cannot be swapped as they are not established in respective test teams.

Foe test matches
- McGrath for Nehra (or Zaheer or Agarkar or Balaji)
- Gillespie for Zaheer (or Nehra or Agarkar or Balaji)
- Hayden for Akash Chopra (or Yuvraj)

For ODI's
- McGrath for Nehra
- Murali for Harbhajam
- Ponting for Laxman

Flintoff has 9 ODI man of the matches and 3 Man of the Series,

Yuvraj has 7 man of the matches.
Flintoff 5 out of 9 are aganist BAN or ZIM
Yuv 3 out of 7 are aganist BAN OR ZIM

so both of them have 4 aganist decent teams and yuvraj has 2 aganist australia

their carrer avg is almost identical @ 30.70 yuv and 30.17 flintoff

but their record aganist test palying nation except ZIM and BAN is
28 and 25.45 sligtly better for yuv so y should u change him with Flintoff

despite yuvraj having played about 25 more ODI matches......i remember you saying that yuvraj has won more matches for his country when that clearly isnt the case.
oh and i notice you completely ignore the man of the series.......

i suppose it has nothing to do with the fact that he plays in an average (batting wise) team as opposed to arguably the best batting lineup. i mean, guys like tendulkar, dravid, gangs etc dont let go of those awards so easily.

Equally as you say as a player who plays in a average team, you would expect the oppistion team to collect the awards most of the time

First of all a swap of Yuvraj for Flintoff isn't permitted by rules of this thread.

Anyway though:
I think India has won most of the matches in which Yuvraj got a 50. (India lost 2 I think, as far as I can remember of which 1 was in Syd where he got 130 odd.. and Ind lost after rain interfered)

I havent followed Eng enuf to make a judgement on Flintoff, I but I reckon this record of Yuvraj would be hard to beat...

Personally I won't swap Yuvraj for anyone in the world as I believe he has only scratched his true potential. Once Sachin, Dravid, and Ganguly retire, He and Sehwag r the future...

averaging 51. so how can anyone argue that flintoff is a better test player than yuvraj.
You can't but you can't argue it the other way around either. Not as yet.

Because of Yuvraj's amazing ODI bowling record?

if you read my follow up post you will realise that i acknowledge that. all i'm saying is we dont need "a flintoff" in our team.

Not bowling and not batting either. Fielding perhaps.
If u think Flintoff is as good a batsman as Yuvraj, do u believe Ganguly will push Flintoff to open and drop Chopra ? Make the decision based on batting only .... Let's forget for a moment Flintoff can bowl...

Boycott is a Ganguly loyalist and he wanted Flintoff to open the bating in ODI's. Still, he's not the kind of batsman to fit in a top-6, going by how he started, but good for a bowler -in fact, very good.

They're different kinds of batsmen. Also, we don't know if Ganguly's experiment will work. It will certainly have Yuvraj face less spin...

There's nothing to say that Yuvraj is a better batsman than Flintoff. They average about the same in ODI cricket and Yuvraj has not played enough Tests to judge there.
