The thing is though, even in the presser he held specifically to deny he said what was originally quoted, he still managed to say "Australia played better in their home conditions, it will be different when they come to India" - which is basically a diplomatic, read-between-the-lines version of the same thing. It's obviously an attitude he takes.

In summary, he's a ****ing dick.

No idea why people are trying to defend the BCCI and whether he actually said the exact words. The attitude exists, and its even infected the players.

As huge a Kohli fan as I am, the fact he tried sledging Warner by saying "wait til you come to India" is embarrassing. Was so disappointed in that.

Love how Warner said "I'll average more because its easier to bat on those wickets" (or something similar). WAG Warner is.

**** you BCCI

well.. I already responded about what I thought of that attitude. I just still think the earlier attributed comment was far worse than whatever it is that he actually said.. that is all.

Nothing wrong with that, maybe not rank turners, but we definitely need more wickets like the one we had during the first test of the WI series at the kotla.

Nothing wrong with that if it was said under any other context.. The problem with making these statements now is the fact that they don't seem to address their own technical weaknesses which led to 0-7. The defence right now seems to be 'oh well the English and the Aussies can't play spin so if its ok if we can't play pace and seam'.

My point is, don't worry about whether how you will beat them on your turf..You should be working on improving your own game right now..Just because you think the English and Aussies can't play on your turf is no excuse for not trying to improve your game so you can score runs against Siddle, Pattinson and Hilfenhaus in Australia

"We need to realise that when we go overseas every country prepares wickets to their own strengths," Gambhir said. "So once the other teams come home we need to prepare tracks to our advantage as well. So there should not be a lot of talk when Australia or South Africa or England come home that we should not be preparing turners. I think we should be playing to our strengths, and if we can prepare rank turners, that's where their technique and their temperament will be tested."
Negligible point when India don't have a spinner to pick for themselves, tbh. Honestly don't even think they're good enough to stop a decent visiting side right now.

Going to come right out and predict it; India are going down to the next half-decent touring side and then many of their fans, politicians and officials will really have absolutely nowhere to go.

Indeed. Think though this is also a bit of venting as I'm sure he and a few others like Kohli in the Indian camp have copped loads of taunts from all corners.

Right and I am sure that is what it is...but I would have preferred if he used it to motivate himself and score a century rather than "wait till you come to India"

Horrible statement to make when you're getting your hide handed to you on a platter. There is no introspection, no ambition, no desire to improve. Nothing. I just don't see how any sane, grounded cricket fan can support the Indian team anymore. I wish every possible form of humiliation (including bukkake) on them. I want to see Zimbabwe tour India and beat us. Pakistan arrange a series and do us in.

Then it's time to man up and face the music. Improve for ****sakes, not do this kindergarten bull****.

What is Gambhir on about, don't India already prepare rank turners? I certainly don't see any seaming tracks over there.

Sure its a poor comment, and I think him and Sehwag should be in line after Lax for the axing. However I think he's just vented out a bit there as he's known for great work ethic otherwise.
